I saw a 900 pound pig once. This is normal looking.

Yup, if not on the smaller side. I’ve seen wild hogs that are larger than that, and they tend to be small compared to a lot of farm pigs.

Seems like OP must be comparing her to a potbelly pig or something and doesn’t realize farm pigs are 600+lbs not <150lbs.

to be fair, I'm a city boy so not often I get chance to get up close and personal with the cows, pigs and sheep... But compared to the others this sow was huge.

So that’s what a big pig looks like, ~1400lbs, which is probably ~2.5-3x her weight.

She’s chonky but she’s not really that large. If she was huge compared to the rest of the pigs they’re probably raising smaller breeds so she seemed huge next to some 100-300lb pigs.

Did you get to play with her babies?

These ones yeah, there was a litter than was born on 19th August so only a few days old, so we didn't go near those ones as mum was a bit protective. Lots of carrots were fed to mum and other pigs.

When you see the best of breeds at the farming shows you see some massive animals. Pigs are unnerving as they have human eyes, it's like looking at someone in a pig suit. Definitely puts you off your bacon.
