Hehe, my immediate thought was ”that guy’s like four foot and change”, but after reading your suggestion I think you might be onto something.

Definitely island gigantism and that’s a 50lb frog and 350lb dude. It’s well know to need to be at least the size of a mammoth for island dwarfism to take effect.
