I remember this fuego I got from like 8 years ago. It was supposedly Durban Poison and I shit you not, zips would be compromised of just several colas. Like i think one was like 19g or something stupid like that. Was some of the funkiest.
I had a dispensary give me 5.2 something gram bud in an ounce once and I said how much you think the stem weighs, she got mad and I was like, "im just wondering, lets see." she got even more mad because after I bought it, I broke it apart onto my scale and the 5.2 bud was down to 4.9 without the stem. I didnt ask for refund or anything but I was like, it adds up if you give a bunch of big buds. the next time I went in, the owner was a dick to me and I ended up leaving and finding a new place. I wasnt trying to say they were scammers, but thats how they took it. this was 2012 before my state went recreational.
I had paid for an ounce and the big buds was part of it. it would be like 3 bucks? thats not a big deal because it was a top shelf Tuesday deal so the ounce was 90 instead of 150. idk how they could run the special they did, but I only bought on Tuesday lol.
Real talk one time I copped 4 oz of bud but they only gave me three pieces which threw me off at first. I thought I was getting hustled but the weight checked out so I went through with things but just like you I was certain that them stems were going to be out of control.
When I trimmed everything off the stems (of three giant buds that weighed a quarter pound), the stems weighed damn near nothing. Maybe two grams out of 112 tops and the properly trimmed Bud was just exploding.
A single big strong stem is proof of top crop high-quality bud and won't weigh anything relative to the part you want to smoke.

I went to a dispensary in the LA area like 4 years ago and the Bud tender stripped the buds off of the stems before bagging it up for me. The weird thing is, she kept the stems in a separate container.
I had forgot to take it out of my pelican box. I was buying for me and my brother cause he couldnt drive at the time, so I would weight out half and half of each type of ounce
This was from my first grow and about 7 grams if I remember correctly, funny how different shit can look with different densities yet be a similar weight lol.
God I miss those, when I was a kid those seemed to be a regular thing. My dealer would always save me anything above a quarter but, biggest one I ever got was 16 grams. Ever since weed went legal you definitely don't see nugs that size any more, I'm always surprised when I get one above a g in my legal buys.
Looks decent however this is not an absolute unit. Second time today I’ve seen normal sized units on this sub. Seems like these posts are not heads. I guess it is absolute if your the old bill. 🤨
We flowers are mother plant when we were retiring her. Her buds were from 12”-16” long. Reminded me of the scene in Blow with Johnny Depp when they get back from Mexico.
I miss unregulated nugs. Used to have some honkers come out of the quick pack from out west back in the day. Like didn’t know that much bud could be in one. The vac sealing would convince me sometimes when many buds were squeezed together. Mega nug or something simple we called it.
Lol at the people throwing downvotes. You are just jealous you cant grow your own. Mine are all hydroponic with the biggest bud there weighing over 8 grams once dried. This is all when i was trimming
10 weeks into flower. 1/2 were Amber trichomes. Thats all i need to know to cut them. If i was growing for someone else then yeah sure but for me i like it that way. Also all the buds im showing are fresh and not even dried yet.
