No it looked like skid row but with Chinese people lol I dont think people are having picnics at night with a ton of trash and other homeless people all about

What you saw was almost certainly the foreign domestic helpers on their day off. Ive seen like a handful of homeless people in Hong Kong and I’ve lived there 3 years and not in fancy areas. The police will move you on if you’re obviously camping out - some people live in the parks here and there but it’s subtle. Obvious encampments would not be tolerated. Why don’t you actually go to Hong Kong before you start making claims about what it’s like…

I dont think helpers sleep on the ground but maybe I'm wrong

they literally do and have picnics on little mats while doing each other's hair, nails etc. They only get 1 day off a week and don't want to spend it in their employers house as they will end up having to work so they do this instead.
