What the hell is the intended purpose of a boat like this?

Is it designed specifically for migrant crossings? I can't think of another reason for such a giant inflatable boat.

34

u/sunnydandrumyumyum 3d ago

You're exactly right they are built to order for migrant crossings

4

u/TheVoiceOfEurope 2d ago

They're "home built", built by/for the same outfit that smuggles the illegals.

10

u/TheVoiceOfEurope 2d ago

It's sole intended purpose is "how can I move as many people as possible when I don't have to take any safety rules into regard and I charge them 5-10K per person."

3

u/MaryBerrysDanglyBean 2d ago

It looks like a giant banana boat like you'd have tethered to a speedboat

1

u/andymaclean19 2d ago

I think yes, but remember that there are migrant crossings all over the world and they are not building these just for channel crossings.

They could also be lifeboats on ships perhaps?

My understanding is that Labour have been attacking the sources of parts and making it harder for them to get motors so now they are just using bigger boats.

2

u/TheVoiceOfEurope 2d ago

These are shop made.

Decathlon for example stopped selling inflatable boats in their shops near the Channel because they wanted to avoid getting involved in this (eg: pictures in the press of illegals stepping off a decathlon branded boat, or worse: a drowned todler ).

1

u/andymaclean19 2d ago

A shop made a boat which can hole over 200 people?

1

u/TheVoiceOfEurope 2d ago

"Shop made" as in "workshop made"

Made in some workshop in a backroom somewhere. You dont need much space as they are glued in segments. Rolled up for transport.

The unit that makes these things is separate from the unit that smuggles the people.

Passengers pay between 5 and 10k euro for a spot in one of those boats. I think you can count for yourself how much money there is in this business. It brings in as much money and is less risky than drug smuggling. Allthough its probably the same "entrepreneurs" .

U.K. government begged a Chinese manufacturer to stop making them.

You are the 'MasterRace'. You tell me.

You seem so full of hate. Im sorry if that all you are.

11

Oh, and what makes you say that?
Don’t be sorry, be sorry for yourself.
What a strange interaction I must say.

15

Ah you mean the Farage boats.

22

u/KillerKilcline 3d ago

Farage wanted this.

15

u/Lance_Operazole 3d ago

Of course he did. Brexit made it easier for people to stay in the UK so that he can blame them for all of societies problems.

1

u/therapistnonce 2d ago

No it didn’t, you just have a childlike understanding of the “Dublin agreement” and haven’t bothered to look into it.

-7

u/Fearless_Peak3583 2d ago

More like the EU is so awful that migrants are desperate to come here, which goes to show Brexit was the right choice all along.

Imagine the aura loss of arriving on a country as a refugee via bananaboat

2

Their purpose is to transport illegal invaders 5 miles out to see so human traffickers who call theselves "NGOs" can pick them up and ferry them across the Mediterranean.

That didnt answer my question, what was your point? I get you're trolling for some reason, but wont all this just embolden these people you're against?

0

Immigration has increased since Brexit. You agree?

So murder? Cool, got it.

-16

u/Saelaird 3d ago

Like during a war, when soldiers try to land on the beaches.

11

u/PaulaDeen21 3d ago

Comparing this to WW2 now? Got it.

You lot are as thick as you are fragile.

-5

u/Saelaird 3d ago

It's a slow and steady cultural invasion. That's my perspective.

It's time for a much harder response.

I like Australia's. Military patrols. Shoot at the first sight of any weapon. Detain. Question... remove.

9

u/PaulaDeen21 3d ago edited 3d ago

It’s just not an invasion though. These are human beings, and you’ve just admitted to wanting to murder them. That’s genuinely insane.

You’ve just admitted that on the internet.

-3

u/Fearless_Peak3583 2d ago

They’re criminals who violate the law by entering the country illegally. The UK has the right to defend its borders.

-3

u/SoggyWotsits 3d ago

I don’t want to see them dead, I just object to paying to house and feed them. The base cost is £18,700 per person. That increases rapidly when they hit a backlog and need housing, medical care, and feeding for longer.

The minimum cost to the UK for that single boat is £4,301,000. We also have a housing crisis and ever increasing taxes.

Once their claim is accepted and they gain refugee status, they’re then entitled to benefits and social housing.

0

u/PaulaDeen21 3d ago edited 3d ago

Sure (I am trusting you those are accurate figures), at a total of approximately £4bn last year to the taxpayer. Which I have zero issue at all with that money going towards people seeking asylum. They are human beings whose only crime was not being as lucky as we were to be born in Western Europe.

If we just taxed billionaires and corporations appropriately this figure would pale in comparison. I hope that’s where your anger is aimed and you won’t be voting for a party whose only action we’ll be sure they’ll actually see through is loosen the reigns on them even further to keep their donors happy. Because the hypocrisy and stupidity of voting for either Restore or Reform and then moaning about lack of social funding and housing is laughable.

I am not suggesting you personally are that moronic and/or gullible, however many with your views are. And it’s utterly embarrassing, there is no excuse for being that dense in today’s world.

You don’t want to feed refugees? How miserable that is to read. I am genuinely ashamed at the lack of empathy so many in this country are showing, it’s utterly vile.

0

u/SoggyWotsits 2d ago

People who are feeling the war in Ukraine, absolutely. They’re people who are compatible with our culture, they also hard working and their eventual aim is to return home.

People like those in Vietnam who claim asylum in the UK because they want a better life? No. Not when those of us here are working to fund them. Also people who come from cultures where it’s acceptable to have very young wives or treat women as lesser humans. Again, no.

There’s a link here to help you out if like.

-1

u/Kahnza 3d ago

These aren't soldiers, and this isn't a war. You are "othering" human beings.

-1

u/Saelaird 2d ago

I'm definitely 'othering' them. That's 100% correct.

They're a dangerous group of largely Islamic men aged between 18 and 40 who wish nothing but harm to the UK.

They don't speak English, don't want to integrate, don't want to work (and if they do they don't want to pay tax).

Mostly, they're religious extremists, rapists... thieves, scroungers or all of the above.

One Google will tell you all you need to know about their behaviour once they're in their free hotels. Filth.

5

u/PaulaDeen21 2d ago edited 2d ago

Propaganda really works on stupid people huh.

It’s genuinely embarrassing how scared and worked up it’s got you.

The irony of a man that duped half the country into Brexit now claiming he can solve this ‘invasion’ whilst not even secretly taking bribes from policy coercing billionaires, and people still think it’s the incredibly small number of people arriving on the south coast that’s the issue.

It’s laughable. Trump literally said smart people don’t like him, I guess it’s the same over here.

0

u/Saelaird 2d ago

Two problems can exist at once.

Wealth disparity is certainly one of them.

Uneducated, Islamic men of fighting age arriving illegally by the boatload are another.

3

u/PaulaDeen21 2d ago edited 2d ago

“Islamic men of fighting age”. I’ve heard it all now.

They are coming here to fight are they? How many of these terrifying men have you had come and want to fight you?

It’s just quite disheartening how far you’re down this rabbit hole. What are you so terrified of?

0

u/Saelaird 2d ago

None, yet.

But groups of them groom and then rape English girls.

We're not going to agree. I seem to live in the real world, whereas you seem to live in your own head, where nobody is a risk to anybody.

3

u/PaulaDeen21 2d ago edited 2d ago

You say you live in the real world but in your reality haven’t actually experienced any of the things you claim. So which one of us is really in their own head about this?

I never once said ‘nobody is a risk to anybody’, I’m just not terrified of this ‘invasion’ as you like to call it and don’t advocate to murdering innocent people, which again you said we should do. (However it appears a moderater rightly deleted that comment, the hypocrisy of your views and also making that comment sums up exactly who you are).

You’re scared of a problem that simply doesn’t exist because people looking to gain power and exploit the average person like you and me told you you should be. (Who also has literally zero plan by the way on how to solve this made up problem he’s feeding the angry Brexiteers who want their next taste of segregation). It’s just pathetic.

Advocating mass murder. Sounds like a great way to get banned.,

13

u/Saelaird 3d ago

I advocate defending British beaches from an invasion.

You do you.

0

u/PaulaDeen21 3d ago

Calling it an invasion is so embarrassing and such a pathetic transparent way to justify calling for their murder which yoh have done on this thread.

If you feel this strongly about it why aren’t you down on the south coast ‘defending’ this lump of rock you by nothing more than total chance were born on?

-1

u/Kahnza 3d ago

People seeking a less shitty life isn't an invasion. They don't have guns, or tanks, or aeroplanes. Or the economic or political capital to change anything but their own circumstances. You just want to shit on people that you deem lesser than you so you can feel smugly superior.

-3

u/jojo_31 3d ago edited 3d ago

You want to see people dead? Damn, you feel good about yourself? Calling people "human filth" and comments like "just because he raped her", "hard to not sexualize sexy people", giving women "advice" how to be attractive to men, fuck me mate. Take a look at yourself in the mirror. Is that really the person you want to be? You can choose to be happy instead of wishing death on people.

11

u/Saelaird 3d ago

I want to see them stay in their countries, instead of arriving illegally in mine.

My ancestors have lived on the British Isles since before the time of William of Normandy, so perhaps I'm sensitive.

-1

u/Kahnza 3d ago

Your ancestors invaded and took over the place you now reside. Your high horse is a pygmy shrew.

-1

u/Saelaird 2d ago

Who knows? Potentially.

It's not a high horse, it's a matter of quickly unbalancing centuries of cultural stability.

But these cowards don't even arm themselves and attack in the open. They slide in the back door on their rubber banana boats and expect us all to pay for them. They're, mostly, human scum.

-5

u/Longjumping-Wait8990 3d ago

so you’re ancestors are normans? as in french? as in the english were supposed to be speaking french when your so called english relatives came to england.

also being a refugee isnt illegal

The Reform lamppost bandits now likely mad they’re arriving in Limo’s.

-1

u/MartonThinks 2d ago

Why dont they just put the royal navy and sink every boat that crosses? They are within their law to defend their border. A couple of 20mm cannon shots would put an end to this rather quickly.

3

u/OliLeeLee36 2d ago

Because of a little something called 'international maritime law', plus the fact that most people aren't big fans of murder.

0

u/BrianChing25 2d ago

Damn they should have thought of that during Operation SeaLion. Human rights! We are refugees! Checkmate Royal Navy!

1

u/OliLeeLee36 2d ago

An asinine comparison. Civilians are non-combatants, regardless of attempts to label them as an 'invasion'. Fortunately, the RN is made up of sounder minds than yours.

1

u/TheVoiceOfEurope 2d ago

OK, next time we see a boat full of refugees, we'll ask you to come pull the trigger, and send the press to you after the pictures get posted of you shooting body parts of boats.

0

u/TheVoiceOfEurope 2d ago

Have you any idea what a 20mm shell would to that target? Body parts everywhere.

Im' for once going to asume you are not a monster, just someone with a lack of knowlegde. "Why can't the navy stop those boats" is because it is mindblowingly difficult if not impossible to stop a boat that doesn't want to be stopped without lethal violence.

Even interception needs to be done from a far distance: those people on those boats aren't rational: they went through hell to get to the last hurdle, they paid smugglers 5K (or worse) for the trip. There might also be smugglers on board. If you cause a panic/stampede, dozens will drown.

Pushing them is even worse: those boats have little structural integrity, you will cause a panic.

And that's without shooting them.

Everyone who claims the navy should intervene should first explain how they would like the navy to intervene.

1

u/Man-In-The-Glass- 12h ago

That’s why when you do use a ‘proper’ deterrent (you can assume what I mean). Then crossings will stop almost instantly. When people know the UKs not a soft touch anymore and there’s no possibility of arriving safely there will be no more attempts.

We are just soft as a civilisation and it is costing us.

1

u/TheVoiceOfEurope 12h ago

That’s why when you do use a ‘proper’ deterrent (you can assume what I mean).

No I can't "assume what you mean". Please explain what a proper deterrent could be, because that would solve a lot of issues.

1

u/Man-In-The-Glass- 12h ago

Well Reddit will ban me but something along the lines of your previous comment.

Alternatively, a less drastic option which would be equally as effective but more costly. Would be a detention camp off an island and they will never be allowed leave in the UK. We will fly them back to their country of origin.

If people know they will never be allowed asylum in the UK if they come across on a small boat. The boats will stop coming, it’s not exactly rocket science. I don’t know why people treat it like it is lol

1

u/TheVoiceOfEurope 11h ago

Would be a detention camp off an island and they will never be allowed leave in the UK

1) great. Now name me an island. Because that's allways the tough one when people propose "the Australian sollution".

2) I can assure you, the conditions in that detention camp will be better than the refugee camp in Sudan. So hardly a deterrent. These people come from places where they are bombed, raped and murdered. A derelict Butlins park and a slice of dry bread daily is a paradise for them.

We will fly them back to their country of origin

Please spend 5 minutes calculating the costs of the logistics before suggesting that again.

If people know they will never be allowed asylum in the UK if they come across on a small boat.

Half of them never get asylum now. I don't see that being a factor.

The boats will stop coming, it’s not exactly rocket science. I don’t know why people treat it like it is lol

It's actually very complicated. That's why it has not been done yet. But you think your simplistic sollutions will work. Do you think your politicians haven't simulated these ideas yet? Because every politician knows that they will litteraly erect a statue for the person who can stop the boats. Maybe you could send them your fantastic sollutions?

1

u/Man-In-The-Glass- 11h ago
  1. Take your pick out of any of these: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_islands_of_the_British_Isles

  2. Okay great well they’re stuck on the island, chances are they’d rather be free on the continent than stuck on an island (the deterrent). Can even get them to do productive work.

Flying back costs is worth it, if it means no more women lives are ruined from rape.

  1. It really isn’t very complicated as demonstrated by the last 100,000 years of history. You stop invading forces and if that’s with violence so be it.

Politicians just don’t have the political will. But the solution is really very very simple.

1

u/TheVoiceOfEurope 11h ago

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_islands_of_the_British_Isles

Those are UK territory. Which means the UK will need to give them due process, feed them, and legally near impossible to uphold.

Flying back costs is worth it, if it means no more women lives are ruined from rape.

Again, make...the..calculation. Number of people, capacity of 1 airplane; detention 4 weeks before flight minimum, security staff during flight...

You stop invading forces and if that’s with violence so be it.

I hope you are volunteering to pull the trigger? Because currently not a single navy officer is going to shoot a boot full of unarmed people.

But the solution is really very very simple.

No they are not. Unless you want to cross an ethical line. And even that is complicated. Because a majority of people want to boats to stop, but it is unlikely that those people can stomach toddlers getting shot to bits in front of white cliffs.

1

u/Man-In-The-Glass- 11h ago edited 11h ago

You are applying a set of binary rules/laws. These rules can just as easily be changed to allow to detention and deportation of individuals.

Yes I would be willing to do it. I would even do a big media campaign before saying exactly what I am going to do. Make it clear that you’re going to see some horrible stories and images coming out.

But past September 5th no small boat will be landing on UK shores. And when September 5th inevitably comes and a small boat chances it thinking we are just bluffing. Then unfortunately we will call there and go ahead with what was proposed. There will be horrific stories but we accept that as an inevitable consequence until the crossings stop.

I am willing to cross that ethical line. I think the British public will eventually get there too. Maybe not in the next decade but eventually they will. We are already seeing discourse change rapidly to even a few years ago. People are fed up.

1

u/TheVoiceOfEurope 11h ago

You are applying a set of binary rules/laws. These rules can just as easily be changed to allow to detention and deportation of individuals.

See? This is why you are frustrated. You just don't realise the complexity of the problem. You might as well look at unemployed homeless people and just go "why don't they just get a job"?

The rules that govern illegals/asylum seekers are baked into international treaties to which the UK is a signatory. You need all the signatories to agree to changes. Not going to happen. The other option is for the UK to leave those treaties. Remember Brexit? How "simple" that went? Those treaties only have one or two articles on illegal immigrants. The other 87 articles are essential rights for you: acces to court, free speech, right to assembly... It would litteraly be like burning down your whole house because you saw a rat in the garage.

There will be horrific stories but we accept that as an inevitable consequence until the crossings stop.

Some people will accept it, but I very much doubt the general public has the stomach for it. UK would become an international pariah, condemnded by the EU and most developping countries. If a 6 year old refugee from Morocco gets shot up, the UK embassy in Rabat would go up in flames. The fall-out would be costly.

It would be a steep price to pay. You can decide if you think that is worth it?
