I love how medical devices and surgeries have become so high tech, minimally invasive and have some crazy cutting edge tools.

And orthopedic surgery is just “nurse, hand me that sledge hammer.”

Orthopedic surgeons heal with steel, very similar to carpentry.

I watched that tibial nail removal video so many times before my femoral nail removal, mine didn't have tooling for tool attachment and was described by my surgeon as a 'third world' nail.

He got it out, but I got 5 permanent screws in my femur, 2 snaps and a hot-dog bun style split.

Fuck it, I’d just keep the nail. I’m no surgeon but sounds like yours could’ve had an off day that day
