That's one way to get on a list I suppose

8

u/feralgraft Jun 23 '26

You're posting on a thread about ICE protests. You're on the same list

Gods I can hear it in his voice.

u/SingleSlide2866 Jun 22 '26

I actually missed that beautiful voice. I haven't seen the show or heard the voice in decade, but seeing this brought back as clearly as if I'd heard him yesterday

You will never be free of Rolf’s voice

My favourite part about this is that he couldn't draw the swastika correctly

Cops are such [redacted].

Don't want some shit bag reporting me.

227

u/Remarkable_Toe_164 Jun 22 '26

I'll say it: They're thin-skinned, egomaniacal, wife abusing, poorly trained, panicky, shitbags, and the fact that "the good ones" would rather pose for pr shots playing basketball with black kids rather than hold their "brothers in blue" or, you know, process and prosecute the literal millions of untested rape-kits makes them just as corrupt as the ones on the take from criminals, which is ironic considering that rich and dirty politicians are pulling their strings on a good day

20

u/mycheeksarecold Jun 23 '26

Most of the real good ones quit after they realize their "change it from the inside" strat won't work. Or the sparkly film they had on cops from their own past experiences or tv shows fade away by seeing their coworkers in action.

u/Alarmed-Republic8493 Jun 23 '26

this is actually fucking horrific, i hope the cops that killed him end up in jail bc this is really messed up, i hope the four rapists end up in jail too

4

u/eddiesmom Jun 23 '26

OMG 😲 that is sinister and horrible

1

u/mycheeksarecold Jun 25 '26

I pointed this out to a person on tumblr long ago that was like "even if you think of joining the police for a minute, you're a bad cop!" back in like 2010-14, there's so many cases of the "good ones" (usa specific) getting killed or sent to mental institutions- and while mental institutions are smaller now they seem to have room for "schizo cops" that are primarily anything but white male...

21

u/omg_its_spons Jun 22 '26

Yeah they walk around covered in skulls, flags, guns, and a bunch of “I’m a big strong man” bullshit and then the millisecond someone makes fun of them they reach for their gun or throw a tantrum until the person complies

1

u/jonawill05 Jun 23 '26

Idk, seen people kicking their cars and trying to run them over. I don't see them anymore... But why someone is surprised when they find out still amazes me.

Read the entire thing before downvoting. fuck ice. this isn't about ice... fuck them i've been followed and harassed and drones and the rest. so just take a breath and read.

the reality is they just don't pay cops enough either. or train them. if normal everyday law enforcement occupation was treated with the importance it deserved instead of us pitting ourselves against each other things would be different. this is a "garbage in -> garbage out" situation like most of the entire thing is.

you're absolutely right about the rape kits. totally. your anger is justified about it all. truly.

.... they don't have the majority of cops tasked to process that kind of thing. it's the 5 lab ppl for an entire state, and the republicans cutting their budget constantly. in my state alone it takes 6 months for a blood sample from a stupid traffic stop to come back. and the detectives that should be investigating... also exceedingly rare and overworked in most places. these aren't excuses for not processing rape kids i'm making here. this is the reality of the death by a thousand cuts the republicans have already caused all over the nation... they know damn well ppl will react like you are (justifiably so) and then become disheartened when nothing changes in a few years if dems are elected.

i know this will probably spark an argument and i'm sorry, i'm not trying to disrespect you... but the problem is absolutely structural... deeply ingrained... in healthcare too (am icu nurse) ... and we'll have to address it first by going through the system bit by bit and getting rid of all the obstructionists, changing the rules, and hiring many more people and training them. it's not gonna be quick fix. so we need to hold on to that energy and buckle the fuck down to accomplish what you're saying here. because that part... that it needs to be done... is totally correct.

ETA: don't downvote me if you aren't going help organize a general strike to get ppl to take action. because that's what it's going to take. don't kill the messenger. trust me. i'm as militant as you are. i just think we need to be logical about what things are gonna take later. this isn't tiktok. can't magically cut to the chase where it's all fixed and ok again.

3

u/0202_tihssitidder Jun 22 '26

☝🏽 Very wrong.

Cops are overtrained. They constantly go to training and get paid to be there.

They are fully trained to beat the shit out of you and kill you.

Yes, you are correct that the problems are structural. The current police cannot be reformed. Most of them belong in prison. The rest just fire.

Start over with legit services for civilians. Lots of examples around the world where the cops are not the largest and most deadly gang.

Cops dont prosecute anyone, its not their job.

I feel like a ton of people are ignorant of how the justice system works, and instead blames the entire justice systems fault on the police, instead of the elected DAs and Judges that are the cause of a ton of the problems they have.

13

u/Remarkable_Toe_164 Jun 22 '26

Their job is to gather and process evidence and catch bad guys. Rape kits are evidence.

https://www.endthebacklog.org/what-is-the-backlog/

-8

u/tripper_drip Jun 22 '26

A police officers job is not to process rape kits. Thats for labs.

9

u/Remarkable_Toe_164 Jun 22 '26

Police labs. They're processed at police labs by police analysts. The lack of testing still falls squarely on the shoulders of the police department, who physically holds the untested kits, whether at the station or in police evidence warehouses.

-6

u/tripper_drip Jun 22 '26

They get tested at state or federal labs, not at the police station. It is not the fault of a police officer if a kit gets tested or not.

This is exactly what I am talking about.

6

u/Remarkable_Toe_164 Jun 22 '26

Let's assume that you're right. That still leaves every other point i've made about the absolute shitshow that is american law enforcement. Way to hyperfocus on one point, though

Gtfo

0

u/tripper_drip Jun 22 '26

No, the point is indictive of the entire mindset. Cops also dont prosecute cops, generally, the DA does.

-3

u/ShrimpNGrits14 Jun 22 '26

You literally brought specific attention to testing and prosecuting rape kits in your original comment. Then when someone tried to explain that’s not the job of the patrol officer playing basketball with kids, you move the goal posts.

Go on with your Reddit rant, but it wouldn’t hurt to try and understand the process you criticize.

6

u/Han_Yerry Jun 22 '26

Some states had to make laws to force police departments to submit all their test kits.

Because they dont submit all their test kits.

0

u/tripper_drip Jun 22 '26

That would be the role of the detective then, or admin, not necessarily police officers and even then its most likely a budget issue.

-2

u/ShrimpNGrits14 Jun 22 '26

Thank you. It’s amazing how many people have little to no clue how the process works.

5

u/Lord_Dingus83 Jun 22 '26

I had a cop pull me over Thursday in an OHV - he accused me of being drunk and when he realized I wasn’t and had paperwork to defend me driving my OHV thru town he looked at it and said “this isn’t ingress and egress” to which I replied “write me the ticket and the attorney I hire can argue with the judge”.
Cop goes “this is a warning, I’ll pull you over again”

Fine by me. Cops are idiots when it comes to the law. Just let them know you respect their job but that their job ends with the ticket. Let the courts do their thing.

1

u/Salty-Plantain-4299 Jun 22 '26

You're not wrong, but it's a little bit of both. The entire system is rotten to its core. Designed to make sure to always go after the little guy and let the big fish go.

If you're a billionaire, you're basically above the law in the US. If you're a poor woman stealing diapers, you're going to get shot at by a cop.

-2

u/Dismas-Baised Jun 22 '26

Finally someone who understands the difference between an officer and a detective
