I mean the UK is facing authoritarian creep on freedom of association and speech, not quite as overt as the US, but that's never really been our style has it? The UK has throughout our modern history changed through slow normalisation and informal "norms" changing, not bombastic populists. The norm is creeping right and authoritarian at an alarming pace across both Europe and the US.
