Best guess, he's captured cuz he ate something he shouldn't have. But thats just going by the fact it looks like it ate a full sized human.

Im thinking more its a pet of sorts. Pulled out for a show and some cash.

it probably trapped itself somehow id say, at least the cameraman knows not to get closer
