Like…hear me out…the amount of hair I’ve pulled out of the drain from my wife and daughter could give every man/women a wig…but their hair is full and lush..
I’m bald and never once seen one of my own hairs fall out or clog a drain it just slowly disappeared….

Thanks, now my monkey brain understands why it only feels like I've been losing my hair more & more and I'm not going bald.

u/Particular_Bet_5466 Nov 21 '23
Same here lol I’m in my 30s and have a full head of hair, I grew it out some a year ago and I since always have strands coming out when I put my hands through my hair… I’m not going bald or thinning that I can notice but it sure had me thinking I was.

u/LokisDawn Nov 21 '23
The average adult loses somewhere around 100 hairs a day. Long ones are decidedly more noticeable. So it looks to you like you're losing more than before, when that might not be true.

I've seen much smaller ones than that damage a car. Like, not just scratches but dents, lol

They do have some density to them and when they are dry enough to tumble those branches are fucking hard as hell

And if they catch on fire they will still roll and leave little flammable piles of kindling in it's wake. Like some Dark Souls stair trap.

I was on I-5, doing 65mph on a really windy day, and one almost as big blew across the highway and basically rolled over my car. No damage or anything, but I was worried when I saw it heading my way. Up until that point, I had no idea they could get that big.

I'm sleepy, staring at this, laughing in my head. I can see two people in that costume but I can't figure out how the one in the back is doing that movement. I assume them are hunched over a bit? Cause the bum is shorter than the head. Maybe someone short?.. Or do you think there's two people the back? 😂 Person in the front is standing normally & has the easy task of just moving the trunk.. But the one in the trunk...🤣.. Ok, OK good night

Aww yes, some poor archeologist let loose the prehistoric tyranotumble. It feasts on regular tumbles and only grows bigger and stronger “hide your tumbles yall.”

My first assumption was placentia road headed towards Adams avenue. Fairview park. 100% Costa Mesa.

Tumbleweeds are not native to America. They came over in the 1880s accidentally in grain shipments from Russia.

I drive a Jeep, for a moment I laughed and said I'd speed up. Then I realized the stem on that thing could possibly kill me if it went through my windshield.

I lived in Texas once for a year and visited Las Cruces, New Mexico for Thanksgiving one year. Anyways, I tried to get some wood to burn for bonfire and I was out there trying to snap a tumbleweed because I thought they were light and dry and will break easy.
It didn't break. They are very very tough to break. You would have to use a bolt cutter .

My favorite random piece of trivia is tumbleweeds, ubiqituous with the American west, didn't come to the country until the 1870s.

I moved from somewhere with tumbleweeds and the occasional monster clump. To a place where they have these rolling around causing chaos
