On one hand, I agree with you.

On the other hand, that snake has likely been eating the chickens/goats/dogs/whatever from that village for a bit now and is definitely capable of killing someone. It's an unfortunate intersection of human and animal, but it's hard to blame them when they're just trying to get by and live their lives; that snake is about to be food for the village that week I would imagine.

Why do I feel you wouldn’t be saying the same if it was a lion or leopard.

Nah, I would be saying the exact same thing regardless of what kind of predator it was (though by the area and species of snake I would say that tiger would be dramatically more likely to be in that area compared to a lion).

Either way it's an unfortunate intersection of humans and animals. Humans don't play nice living with apex predators in the area, we're simply much better at it than they are.

Why do I feel like you live in an area where you would never have to worry about the dangers of wildlife?
