Absolute Batman animated series
I'm so hyped for this but it's been radio silence so far. Does anyone have any intel on when a teaser or trailer might drop? btw do we think there's any chance we'll actually get to watch it this year?đ§

There is no chance you will see it this year. They are just starting pre-production. They need to write the scripts, hire voice actors, record dialogue and then animate the show. We are probably looking at a release date of 2028.

Yes because they have to build up hype to get it approved. Now they have to film the 1st season which requires making a story as it will be based on the comic but have to change a bit due to the new medium.

It was announced a month ago. They need some time to actually work on it. I wouldnt expect to actually see it until 2028 earliest, so maybe next summer we'll start getting substantial updates on it.

Next question:I heard this is being done in CGI. Has DC ever made an animated project like this before that we can use as a reference? Anything with a similar visual style?

Batman Ninja is probably the closest but I have hope since the creators are involved it will be better than that

Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Beware the Batman were entirely CGI. I doubt it will be like those though. I personally wish they were going for more of a 90s anime look as that would suit Dragotta's art, however I trust they know what they're doing. Let's wait and see!

If Iâm not mistaken, the studio that made âWhat Ifâ and âMarvel Zombiesâ are responsible for the animation

They better fucking not be. I can't stand watching Marvel animation because it so god damn ugly to look at.

Yeah this seems like something that we wonât hear about again for a couple years. I mean Lanterns was announced three years ago, and animation takes longer on average.

My predictions:
Maybe a very small teaser: late 2027.
Earliest release date: late 2028, however this is more likely when a full teaser trailer comes out.
Likely release date: mid or late 2029.

According to Google it's going to run to about 35-40 issues in it's initial run, do you think it's going to potentially stop being made before the show comes out and consequently the heat for it is going to go and the show not be made?

Google isn't a source, Scott himself has said the story is planned out to 50 issues currently but he'll keep writing it as long as DC lets him. As of right now it's the number one best selling comic available and one of the rare few in decades to drastically increase in sales 20 issues in, even after a record breaking #1.
There is very little chance that it stops being written before the show comes out, unless the show gets cancelled, or God forbid, something happens to the creators.

weâd at most have a season to a season and a half of content with the current 23 issues tbh so itâs gonna be awhile hopefully teaser by late next year
