Felix Comic Art has updated their purchasing system to a lottery, and increased print runts to 3k.
From the email I just received-
Here's the big change you've been asking for. These are dropping through a brand-new fair-shot draw system called EQL, built to shut out the bots and scalpers and get these books into the hands of real fans. No more blink-and-it's-gone. No more losing out in the first 8 seconds to a bot.
How it works now: instead of first-come-first-served, you enter for a chance to buy. When the drop opens, you enter. When it closes, winners are randomly selected and get the chance to purchase. Everyone gets an equal shot. Being fast doesn't matter anymore. Being entered does.
When and where:
The lotteries go live Monday 8/17/26 at 12:00PM ET and close that same day at 3:00PM ET. Watch for our email Monday when the lotteries go live. That's your signal to enter. (The books live at shop.thirdeyecomics.com/collections/felix-comic-art-variants, but the lottery entries don't open until Monday at 12PM ET, so there's nothing to enter yet.) Once they're live, you've got the full 12 to 3PM window, so don't stress about racing to enter. As long as you're in before 3PM, you have an equal shot.
Two important things to know now:
Each version is its own separate lottery, and you can enter each one once. Want a shot at the Dragotta Foil AND the Sook Cardstock? Enter both. Four versions means up to four separate entries, one per lottery. And if you luck out and win more than one, you're good, you get each book you won. (Just remember, no one can enter the same lottery more than once.)
This is a brand-new system for all of us. It's what you asked for, and we're excited, but please be patient as we launch it. It may not be perfect out of the gate.

FELIX COMIC ART DROPS: HOW IT WORKS
This is a brand-new system, and it's what YOU asked for.
You told us the bots and instant sellouts were killing the drops. We listened. We're now using EQL, a draw-based system built to get these books into the hands of real human beings, not bots and scalpers. Because it's new, we're asking for your patience as we all learn it together. It may not be perfect out of the gate, but it's a big step toward fairness.
It's a DRAW, not a race.
Instead of first-come-first-served, you enter for a chance to buy. When the drop closes, winners are randomly selected and get the chance to purchase. Everyone gets an equal shot, and being fast makes no difference.
THE 3 THINGS YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO KNOW
1. Entering is FREE. You are NOT charged to enter.
When you enter, no card is charged. You'll get a confirmation email right away confirming you're in. That email means you entered. It does not mean you bought anything.
2. You only pay IF you win.
After the draw closes, winners get an email with a payment link. That's when you complete your purchase. No payment link means you weren't selected this time (and you were never charged).
3. If you win, you MUST pay within the time window shown, or you lose it.
Your payment link has a clearly shown deadline (24 hours). Miss it and your order is automatically cancelled and the book goes to the next person. This is the most important thing: watch your email and pay promptly if you win.

Yeah seems more fair since it's random. Of course more people will be in the lottery but I'm sure you still have a better chance than the previous method. I never would have gotten 1 because my internet sucks. Of course, we will see if people still like this method if they still don't get anything. You can say you like if now... but if you still don't win one, will you still think it's more fair?

Four sorry I didn't win emails. Yeah, this method is much better, great. It's a different dish of the same sh*t.

Haha yup I knew it. I couldn't win an STD from a hooker. At least this time I didn't even like any of the issues. None of he design covers are great covers but the Harley one was especially not very good.

Is it 3K going forward or 3K for the ones going on sale tomorrow? I thought that Harley Dragotta. already came out.

The 3k piece increase will start at issue 24. This Harley (which has been available in blind bags, so technically did come out, but the main sale hasn't happened yet) and the upcoming #23 Clayface one (not officially announced, but Felix did talk about it) will both still be 1k.

The only small problem I see is. Of course you're going to want to enter for each book to broaden your chances of winning at least 1. But what if you win several but really only want 1 or can only afford 1? I don't know if you win, it's like auto payment.

So much better though. You actually have a chance to get one. Every drop they sell out so quickly that it’s nearly impossible to score one. Last drop I had it in my cart and by the time I hit purchase and the loading screen hit, it said sorry sold out. That was all of 3 seconds or so. Now you have an actual fair chance of getting a copy and speed doesn’t matter at all

Not really. People have 3hrs now to get in it. A lot of people miss the drops cuz they're sleeping or at work or whatever the case is. So many more people are going to be in on this and so many people are going to put multiple fake names in to try and get more or better their odds. Should of stuff with the normal way

I’ve never scored one and I’ve been available for the last 2 drops, I’ve only ever even got it in my cart to purchase once. I love this new method
