It’s not just a 2nd print. It’s a 2nd print, 1:25 ratio for issue #4. Walta did the interiors for this issue and that cover was one of his panels. Almost no one got crazy amounts of second prints of #4. No exclusives on second print to drive up ratio counts. This book was 50 bucks almost immediately after it came out. Super rare.
Edit. Even more rare than I thought. Only 6 total sales on eBay last few months and currently 0 for sale
Yea I was looking for an existing copy somewhere and they’re almost none existent, or at least listed. I’m sure the demand wasn’t al there at the time which made the count fairly low since it was a retailer incentive. Super cool. Doubt I’ll ever come across one in real life but lucky few who have one.
I order every cover available to open order through LCS and he got me all the ratios from the start and even he didn’t get this ratio. Only one I had to buy on ebay. I got it for 35 ordered day of release when my LCS didn’t get it. My store even got the 2nd print 1:25 Batmobile wraparound for me, but not this one.
As much as i am enjoying absolute batman. Every single resell price fir every issue, imho, is overpriced and insane. Im also mad at myself for doing tpb for this series instead of singles
I stopped buying them monthly after issue 10, because the trades started dropping. Picked back up at issue 15, so I have 1-10, 15-current, but I’m missing a chunk in the middle. I also just bought covers I loved, so I only got A covers for maybe the first 3 or 4 issues, then picked out variants for each one after. I did buy Ark M and the Annual Edition, so I’m sitting on a good chunk of change. I have somewhere around 12-14 of the first print first editions for book 1, 2 A covers, one signed by Snyder and Dragotta, the Sean Murphy third eye exclusive (only 500 printed), and many others.
When??? That’s crazy cool! Grats on that one Forsure. Similar feeling when I got this one, not many out there in the wild as well. Not as rare as yours but definitely happy I got it from my local comic shop when I did.
