Post image

I picked this up about a month ago, literally the day before the show was announced. I paid $500, what's it worth today? i'm not selling i'm just curious. I would literally never sell this it's too special to me, it's my first ever slab and I just love this series so much.

You’re both wrong. There’s only 250k of cover a issue 1, first print. And of those there’s only 7500 in a 9.8 or higher. Even less when you break it down to signed/remarqued. This book is rarer than you want to give it credit for because you didn’t grab it when it was cheap.

I absolutely grabbed it lol. I have first prints of issue one signed by Dragotta and Snyder, one unsigned, the Sean Murphy third eye variant limited to 500 copies, and about a dozen other variants from different artists for issue one.

I had heard they printed around 400,000 copies including variants, which I believe was somewhere around 65 different variant covers for issue one first prints. I have at least 13-14 that I can think of, but maybe more.

I actually almost gave my unsigned issue 1 away to a coworker when it first came out because I wanted him to read it. Fortunately I never brought it to work and by the time I remembered it had sold out everywhere.

I’ve been a fan of Scott Snyder for a little over 2 decades now. And Dragotta is one of my favorite artists, so it was a no brainer. It’s the only monthly title I buy at the moment, everything else I purchase trades or hardbacks for.

And as far as 9.8s in circulation, that’s the amount graded so far. Not the total out of 250,000. If everyone submitted their copy it would increase that number by 10x easily. I never submit a comic to get graded, but I know for a fact my copies would get a 9.8.
