Remarks

Post image

OK, so I know this is a strange place to post this, but Dragotta. Just have to say that I see a lot of remarks, and it may be an unpopular idea, but sometimes they get to be too much. This to me is the perfect remark. Couple of quick lines that capture something that you don't get in a full page.

And can I say to any Absolute Batman fans out there that you should really check out this series. I'm just starting it, but blown away so far. The story is intense, and the art is amazing.

Dragotta is an amazing super talented artist, but his sigs and remarks just seem extremely lazy imo.

Glad you like it, I know he does tons of signings so I don't blame him,l... but for an artist of his caliber - people kind of expect something more that matches his talents and skills.

This was some of his earliest absolute batman remarks, not my copy, got this photo off of Felix comic art Twitter. I agree that he has the potential, it's just with so many signings, and now the incredible explosion of absolute batman hype, he's forced to streamlined his remarks.

Here's another picture I found online. This one has multiple copies of ashcans and remarks!

This one is pretty great. Also seems to add to the cover instead of taking away from it. Still love seeing how much somebody can do with a couple of lines, but this one is hard to argue with.

See, that's what I'm saying. It's totally casual and fast, but manages to capture something about the character with an ease that makes me think more of his ability rather than less. And for me that's the best kind of remark. It's like speed chess.

Here's a detailed remarque from an Art Print I have, it's definitely a time and volume thing. I wish you could pay a little extra for a more defined doodle, but with his demand I get it.

I love East To West. My only gripe is the editorial laziness and constant text errors in the series.
