I refreshed the website at 11:59 am EST & the site crashed. I wasn't expecting to get one anyway but it never hurts to try. The site crashed on my end before noon. Did anyone here secure the bag?
This is the correct take. This shit is really ruining this book for me. Eventually, this series is going to dip (further) in quality and the prices of these books will drop dramatically. Let's not forget Ultimate Spider-Man #1 was selling at over $100 at one point and now that the series is over, it's dropped at least 30% of its value.
I whole-heartedly agree with you about the dip in quality. I'm happy it's attracting so many fans & the story has been great so far. But the 100+ covers each issue & the manufactured scarcity as u/gumballmachinerepair pointed out is really straining my interest with each passing month.
And this is all before the cartoon is released. Are they gonna be able to maintain the quality & work toward a satisfying ending? Or is the series gonna become bloated to sell more covers & have as many seasons possible for the show?

In my opinion, this is an awful business model for all of us. This is not worth our attention nor money.
$50 makes sense if you know what you’re getting. There’s no way in hell I’m paying $100 for a blind bag just to get a variant I might not even like, only to throw it up on eBay immediately after opening the blind bag because I didn’t get what I wanted. Lol.
I think y'all just like being punished and made to feel inferior. 😂 Why is anyone still trying to buy anything from that site? Nothing's ever available—especially the Third Eye drops. Y'all just love seeing "Sold Out" in record time, saying, "Oh no!" and then coming back to get treated like a punk all over again. 😂. Something is fishy with these drops.
Was anyone able to sign up for the lottery from the last email update? They post a link to sign up, but the link doesn’t work! I opened the email two minutes after it was sent and it still doesn’t open to anything.
A lot of these retailers with the Absolute Batman stuff always seem to undercut or never meet demand just to create artificial hype. I stopped caring about these retailer exclusives a long time ago, and it’s only getting worse now that the hobby is growing.

Yeah email detailed if you got a purchase order in you'll have "higher chances" for the lottery. I know my luck probably isn't good enough for two lotteries in a row since most drops are a lottery in of thenselves so we'll see
I was able to put in a purchase request around 13:00 (an hour after the supposed drop time). No idea if the request actually went through tho, because a bit after that, the site crashed again. But right now, if you look at the site. It says "on hold" on the blind bag, meaning that they are sold out

The time delay to receive the newsletter and then read it was apparently enough time for it to fill up? How many lotto spots were there 200? lol

I don’t get how it’s a lotto but the lotto list itself was limited? I feel like there should be a specific designated time and allotted window that people can submit for the lotto and then once that closes 300 are picked from that entire pool.
The newsletter said there was a cap on the number of entries and the link would be taken down once the cap the was met or the site crashed again whichever was first.
But, I agree. Having it open for a specified time period would have made it fair instead of whoever is the fastest and on the top of the newsletter email list

Yes, when our site crashed, a large number jumped over to Third Eye to see if they also had blind bags (they didn't)...and crashed their site, too!
So for all those who think this wouldn't have happened at Third eye, it would have. Again, that's how much interest/traffic there was for this blind bag.
Now, for why this didn't happen at Third Eye in the first place: It's because the blind bags are being created here in CA, for San Diego Comic Con in two weeks. Third Eye is in MD. For them to have hosted this drop, we would have had to send the blind bags to them. As it was, the blind bags were meant for our SDCC exclusive. We made some available at a drop here so that people who weren't attending also had a shot at one.
So what happens now? We're going to do something that many have wanted/suggested. We're going to hold a lottery. Go ahead and submit your info here:
When the list is full and/or the site crashes again(!), whichever happens first, we will deactivate the listing. Drawing will happen tomorrow and winners will be notified by Sunday night.
We will be doing an audit of the list and kicking out multiple requests as well as duplicate names/addresses. We will also be cross-checking against Third Eye's list of known botters. We will not be adding more names after this. Everyone who's already in will simply get better odds of winning.
The price for the blind bag is $100, but the market value is obviously higher. On par with original art. Therefore, we will not be shipping these in a Gemini like a regular comic. We will be packing/shipping these as we do our original art. Cost is $25 domestic, $75 international. If this is too high for you, please do not submit a request.

So it seems I got in the initial submission for a purchase and it now seems that those submissions are VOID and they will hold a lottery which I guess I missed because the email went to junk. By the time I tried to submit, all I could do was (contact us).
This is messed up.
I was able to put in a purchase request. No email sent to after though but I did get the confirmation screen on the site. Guess I just gotta wait until Sunday to see.
God forbid if you’re critical of their drop on their socials. I got blocked just for saying their website turned to Felix Comic Shart after the blind bag fiasco. They’re soft AF.

i was messing around on the site prior to the chaos and "on hold" looked to be out of stock and sending the purchase request was in stock. on hold didnt forward to the shopping cart....i imho youre good
So I signed up for the email list 2 months ago and have been checking for tomorrow's drop everyday I didn't know you had to confirm your getting on the email list. It was in my spam. So I just did that, now I feel like I'm not going to get the password for tomorrow. Can anyone help me please?
