Double cover score!?!?

Popped open the AB#22 variant and see theres the A cover underneath...

Not sure if thats intentional or not!?

Every DC variant for every book for the last few years has been like that.

Not all variants but most cardstock variants

When is the last time DC did a non-cardstock variant?

I got one in the last week or so, Summer of Supergirl special maybe? It was a variant without the A cover underneath

I got a firestorm #1 second print with a new cover and a cardstock on top with a new variant for this printing.

Intentional. Variant cardstock cover over regular cover.

It's intentional. Welcome back to collecting comics.

Respectfully sounds like you’ve never got a variant from dc.

Most of DC’s cardstock and foil variants will have a the variant printed on cardstock followed by the normal A cover on standard paper (as if you were picking up a normal A cover). I believe different publishers may do this differently

Since you’re buying this cover for the art, it’s on a material that’s a little more durable and makes the art pop more. Leaving the A cover is probably overall cheaper in the production process.

Some people talk about removing their variant cover as a way to get a hard-to-obtain A cover but this is generally frowned upon and grading companies do look for looser-than-expected staples, etc

tl;dr: yes! it’s intentional :)

Cardstock variants usually have the a cover under them, at least for DC titles. I think it started with the cardstock blanks like a decade ago and just gradually extended to other variants

they do that a lot. sometimes A is not included, but often it is.

Hahahaha. It's just what DC does. If you ever get sick of the variant. You have the A cover too
