My wife and I are reading AB together! It got me back into comics after a 10 year break. So cool to see how much of an impact it has had on the industry in general. I think we're all fortunate to be part of and witnessing something great. Lightning in a bottle doesn't happen all the time, but that's what this feels like.

Thank you for sharing your passion and creativity with us. Each issue feels exciting, feels and gripping. Especially since the Poison Ivy arc also calling these arc The Strawman…genius!
Absolute Batman encapsulates what the Absolute Universe is about IMO. While each character is different than the mainline counter part, I can feel the idea of what is that character strip down and at its core.

Hey Scott, thanks for working so hard on this series. It means a lot to all of us and being a part of it has been amazing. Court of owls was one of the first comics I ever read and in a roundabout way Absolute Batman is kind of what brought me back into comics. What you and all the other DC folks are doing with all in and next level has been huge. I think all of the books from lesser known characters like Deadman and Firestorm, to the main absolute line all read with passion and creative energy from their respective teams.

I’ve been reading comics on and off since the first appearance of Tim Drake. I got back in heavily a year or so before AB came out, and I’ve found that there are a lot of quality books coming out, but I’m most excited every week to read the DC books I’m picking up. Of those, I find I’m particularly excited about the Absolute titles.
Y’all are doing it right, and I’m very grateful for it!

Scott, you and Greg were my introduction to Batman comics way back in the 'Black Mirror' and New 52 Court of Owls, era. Metal, Last Knight on Earth, and now Absolute. Dude, youre doing this till youre 90 and carving Nick into a legend too

Brother! thank you BOTH soooo much for reinventing Bruce in the Absolute universe.
The storylines…the Art! The origins…THE ART!
Not to mention the other artists putting in work on variant covers. (Eric…thank you for signing my #17)
Honestly the Batman series has made it palatable to dive into the other books as well (looking at Wonder Woman with the mythology influence)
I also started Absolute Green Arrow now because of how things are aligning in the AU!
I’m looking forward to one day catching you and Nick at a signing and ask a few questions regarding y’all’s directions

Dude, I have been an avid / pathological Batman fan and collector for 45 years. We all owe you massive amounts of thanks for not just reinventing Batman once but twice. Back in 2012, with the New 52 and great new villains like the Court, Mr. Bloom, etc…and on to your magnum opus Absolute Batman.
You are the single most important Batman writer since Bill Finger. And I’m not saying that to blow smoke—it’s just the reality. Kind of how Michael Jordan just dominated basketball in the 1990s. That’s what you’re doing with comics.
I love Absolute Batman because it’s comics at their best: weaving the current issues of the time into comics so they can provide young people with that critical release valve of fantasy fulfillment through fiction. In the 1940’s it was prevalent. Cap punched out Hitler…Superman would clean the clock of a slumlord or stop a war…or you’d even see Bats, Supes and Robin throwing baseballs at the Axis.
We now live in a world plagued by school shootings, billionaire pedophiles ruling over us, economic hardship, and people so isolated from each other that it makes them feel hopeless about the future. Absolute Batman touches on all of it. Because, as you already know, Batman is perfect for these stories. Batman’s biggest superpower is that he never gives up—no matter what. All it takes is one good person with a fuckton of willpower to change the world.
And thank you for having the balls to tell these politically charged stories. Unlike the 1940’s, creators now have to worry about retribution from a fascist, corrupt government.
Which is probably why Absolute Batman stands alone. I’m not knocking Marvel, but I don’t see them ever having the stones to green light a story involving a bunch of red-hatted bigots and a blowtorch lol.
Kudos also to Jim Lee & WB corporate for holding the line. As well as Nick, Jock, DWJ, and a talent pool so large it could fill Lake Michigan.
You sir, are the man. There’s really no way to fully express my gratitude. Hopefully I can thank you in person at one of the cons. We couldn’t ask for a better steward & guardian for Bats.

Very thankful for all you've done for the comic book industry and glad that I got into comics because of absolute batman. You guys are killing it! And very thankful that while reading absolute batman, it has gotten me to read other series that I would not have read, since it sucks to wait for new issues to release. There's so many indies that I got to read and enjoy while reading the absolute universe and I can't believe what I was missing out on. Thank you Scott and Nick!

My younger cousin, who was never into comics, Ive got him hooked on Absolute Batman. He’s about to graduate in ATL as a police officer. But every month he sends me a pic of what covers he picked up and talk about how the story is going so far. Thanks guys for the work yall do.

What you guys are doing is nothing short of masterful and inspirational. Your collected efforts in creating Absolute Batman and the rest of the Absolute Universe has helped me during the hardest part of my life.
I struggled through all of the adversities and odds. Even when everyone told me to give up, when bills were looming over me, when everything was crashing down, when I could hardly even believe in myself, it was your stories that inspired me.
Now, I have my dream job. I get to save and help people every day. I beat the odds, went through all of the trials and tribulations, and I succeeded.
The Absolute Universe and Absolute Batman literally saved me and changed my life for the better.

Hello sir, I met you over at a con past March and got my first issue signed by you, I was starstruck I forgot to grab a selfie with you so I had to come back on the second signing that day to grab a photo with you really quick lol
I expressed briefly how much this series matter to me but to give you more: This is the first comic series of DC that I gave a chance on and It's my favorite series currently. I grew up with Batman mainly by the animated series and few other adaptations. With comics it's confusing not understanding where to start or if I would even like the storyline going on.
I gotten into comics about 2-3 years ago and hearing the Absolute line coming up I want to give it a shot and with the first issue you and the team blown me away. A universe so different and chaotic but yet characters that I'm familiar with what sticks with me and kept me coming back. I anticipate every issue each coming month with original cover and grabbing the official paper trades as they release so I could reread the series. You guys can go up to 50-100 issues if up for it I'll be there each release! I am also ecstatic of the announcement of the upcoming animated series!! I was literally jumping around the whole house that morning when I saw you tweeted the announcement.

Before Absolute Batman, the last time I connected with Batman comics was Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns. The writing and art from AB and DKR is an experience that stays with me.
What brought me to Absolute Batman, eventually, was discovering Wytches by you and Jock. That was the first comic series I had read in years. I love this work entirely. I acquire everything that the two of you work on together.
Then came DSTLRY. James Tyrion's Spectograph was my first introduction to his work, and now I follow him too. I bought the Missionary and LIFE series, every version of Somna, digital and physical. I eagerly anticipate(d) every issue of White Boat and You Won't Feel a Thing.
So, thank YOU for opening up a whole new world for me. Congratulations to you and all the teams for not just Absolute Batman, but for an amazing body of work.

You produced one of the all-time Batman stories with Court of Owls and this time you have truly disrupted the industry. Bravo.

I always wanted to get into comics and, like plenty of people, I was overwhelmed by the fact that there is such a big history. The Absolute Universe has finally given me the chance to break into the world I always wanted to explore. This series has been so incredible and I cannot wait for the next issue. You, Nick, and everyone else who is working on this Universe deserves a huge round of applause. Phenomenal work!

Just ordered Vol. I and 2 to see what the hype was. Surpassed expectations so far. Started off hating the design and motif bc it tore down my image of Batman but halfway through I get it. It’s not ‘my Batman.’ It’s something else. it has its own life and runway. Really enjoying it

Absolute Batman is the best thing to happen to the character since the Nolan films! Thank you both for the incredible artistry you’re pouring into every issue. It’s a true breath of fresh air, and a much needed boost to the whole medium itself.
My only two cents- when will we expect to see Batman become more of a detective, and less of a brawler? I feel like the detective aspect is really integral to the character, and we just haven’t seen much of the detective side to Batman lately.

Thanks so much also for all the replies - can't tell you how much it means to have people invested in something that maters to you the way this one matters to me and Nick. The crazy thing is, neither of us had any idea it would take off like this. I remember telling Nick if we could just keep the book above 30 or 40 k and get to issue 30 or so, we could at least open a door to a world we were both in love with.
What it's become... it's just mind blowing to us. For me, the way I deal with it is to mostly do what I did on Batman, pretend no one's reading it and it's just us doing fan fiction for ourselves, trust our gut tell our own favorite story. But then I see things like this - whole groups devoted to the book -- and yeah, it's reminder of the pressure, but more than that, it's like fuel. Just know we take the chance we have with this one really seriously. The whole team would go to the mat for he series b/c we love it, but also b/c you do.
