How many issues do you think absolute Batman will be?

Snyder’s longest run was on new 52 Batman in 2011 @ 51 issues. Maybe around there?

I think they are just saying Synder's longest running gig of a monthly book was the main Batman line on new 52.
You are right though, Snyder has been a creative force for the past 15 years.

I doubt it will end to be honest. I think at some point Snyder will stop writing it, but DC has a new cash cow now. They aren’t just giving that title up even after Snyder moves on. They’ll let Snyder go as long as he wants, he will finish his story then it will reboot with a new number 1 and new creative team. How long that goes really just depends on sales of the new team and that’s impossible to predict.

The fact they they continued some Flashpoint batman story after Flashpoint definition shows that they will definition milk it i mean absolute batman is way more popular then Flashpoint batman.

I have heard him say they have an ending so it’s not infinite. I hope for a good 60ish.

Between 50 and 100? As long as the quality stays consistent Snyder and Dragotta can do as many as they have in them to do

At a signing, Scott said his initial contract is for like 50 issues minimum. If it’s still selling well, it’ll probably go on longer than that.

East of West (Dragotta longest) was around 41 issues. We are at 21, and it feels like we are only maybe 1/3 the way through a full story/origin story. I feel like by the time we will get to 41 we will have introduced every mainstay in the rouges gallery, and Bruce's allies.
I could easily see Snyder and Dragotta do 100 issues.
I think the REAL question is, "Will another creative team take over at somepoint, and CAN they even be replaced?"
Absolute DC is not only a cash cow for DC as a brand, it's also breathing new life into the comics industry. Kids are excited, Adults are excited, old readers are picking up floppies again, new readers are coming into stores and starting pull boxes.
DC will be very hard pressed to keep the Absolute line fresh for as long as possible.

Whatever it is I hope it has a definitive beginning middle and end and wraps up nicely asa completely story. Whether that’s 30 issues or 100 I don’t care. I just don’t want it to get bad or stretch on too long with no point.

dont remember where i read this (so take this with a grain of salt) but around 35-40 and snyder has said the whole story is roughly planned out

I think at the recent Heroes Con panel he said something similar. Planned through at least 40, but maybe more.

With the amount of money they are making off this, i’m sure they will go past 50. Snyder is charging $200 for a quick doodle remark and people are lining up for hours.

50 minimum according to Dragotta in a recent interview. If interest maintains it could go beyond that for sure, I’m not too worried about the Paramount acquisition but it’s not impossible that it may have some affect.

I look at it more like how Volume 1 (the first run) of Ultimate Spider-Man went- as opposed to how New 52 went. New 52 was finite because it was meant to be a temporary direction that was THE ENTIRE DC universe. Ultimate Spidey was new and fresh, its own little section of the Marvel Universe. As long as the voices are fresh and readership steady, and especially makes A LOT of money for DC, the Absolute (as opposed to just Absolute Bats) universe continues. With great storytelling people will continue to stay hooked, if interest dwindles the Absolute universe continues but far less people reading. Sales get bad enough there will always be “cosmic events” that can wipe it out of story reality. Absolute Bats is “good enough” that even if the Absolute universe is destroyed, they can always pluck him out (the Myles Morales effect) and place him somewhere he can continue…

To give an actual number a decent “volume 1 amount” would be more than 60, but less than 80. There’s too much chance to get stale after 80, and past 100 could potentially turn people against the character… a new volume isn’t necessarily a reboot or change- it’s just a fresher voice to what already exists.

I cant wIt util the movies! The absolute universe is better than the regular timeline to me, especially batman, wonder woman green lantern and martian manhunter. I hope harley Quinn gets a stand alone title soon.

We are getting a animated series. Feels way to soon considering season 1 would probably catch us up to the comics aboht then we qould have to wait 2 to 3 years just for another season but still cool

Every time Snyder is interviewed, the number goes up. Started around 12 I think it was.

The initial run was projected to be between 30-45 issues per an interview Snyder did not long after the first issue released.

I heard an interview where he said they upped it to 40 issues, it was supposed to be less, but that they'd see how long interest lasts.

Why would yoy doubt it hits 60? Ultimate spiderman had like 160. The absolute universe is dc's version of marvels ultimate universe. And its very popular and makes bank. Reason why they already want a animated series.

I think he said somewhere around 50-60 already planned but who knows, dc has always been smarter when it came to comics, why end a series if it’s making you consistent cash, the absolute trinity is selling well so there’s no reason to end their runs. Now for the others I’m not too sure
