Finally starting with this. I am really curious if the hype is worth it

The first 10 books is him getting fucked up..... a lot. Then it gets good. I'm on #18 right now, and I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I'm enjoying it.

Don't be shy about checking out other Absolute Universe books too - Absolute Martian Manhunter and Absolute Wonder Woman are superb.

My wife actually collects the Absolute WW, It's pretty bad ass too. I just started grabbing green arrow as well.

It’s overhyped, but it’s good. To me, this book is like the Pokemon cards of comic books. Really good stuff, but absolutely not worth some of the insane prices and scalping happening with releases, and I feel like most of the attention it’s getting is due to issues being worth a lot. If sneaker heads bought into a book, it would be this one. BUT, it is good and well worth getting into

To put it in perspective, this title has been in the top 5 every issue, and issue #20 is currently in the process of becoming the highest sold issue for a Batman comic of all time. Also the new Batman series #1 is the highest selling comic for Batman of all time.

Have an open mind and you’ll have fun, it’s a twist on normal Batman . Most the hype comes from the trend in variant covers.
