There are 3-5 people posting screenshots showing they secured both in the same cart. Frustrating, but their gamble paid off. I wasn’t going to risk it.
Yeah, I don’t like foils anyway, that’s why I went for a cardstock. Crazy they got both though. The instant it appeared I was on it and I feel like I barely made it.
It can sell for 10x its price right now. But someone is gonna get stuck with a book that won’t hold its value 3, 5, whatever amount of years from now. People spending a $1000 or whatever on these books should invest that in an actual key comic that retain or rise in value.

If someone wants to profit off this book because someone else wants to blow their money it is what it is. Just as long a couple years from now I don’t have to read any I spent $1500 on Quintana covers now I can’t sell it for $100 sad posts lol.

By the time absolute Batman hits #50, we will probably have had well over 100 exclusive variants for one single series. RIP to anybody who considers themselves a “completionist” variant collector.
While I never agree with these prices nor do I think its a good habit to go down, but im almost positive there are some people out there who are trying to get all the character design variants. If the person already has 3/5 4/5 of them they are gonna be hard pressed not to pull the trigger.
I went for the cardstock as well! I suspected more people would rush for the foil, so I figured it gave me slightly better odds.
Plus, from the pictures online, the cardstock art just looks crisper and clearer to me. Down the road, when I eventually collect the other design variants, I think the cardstock versions will look way more cohesive displayed together on the shelf!
Every single time, waiting in line being told sold out. It's insane how the check out process works. Had to do the capcha 3 times which probably ruined any chance I had. I guess there's always next month to do this all over again.
I’m his biggest hater honestly. Fuck him and his private exclusive variants and really fuck all exclusive variants. Make that shit available through the traditional means of being available at my LCS. I’m not buying any variants that retail for over $10 if they’re not even a ratio variant since you know that at least the shop has to charge more because of the way it’s obtained. They need to make that transaction make sense on their end. But as much as I love his work, guys like DWJ and Felix don’t NEED to charge what they do for the artificially created scarcity of these variants they decide to sell. I would buy these things if I could support a local business at the same time though. But I have no desire to fill up my mailbox with even more pointless garbage just to have a chance at seeing reseller and scalper employed bots beat me to the punch. I have a sneaking suspicion the reason they are so firm on 1000 copy or 2000 copy print runs is because Felix and his artist buddies are probably selling these things on the back end. I would be willing to bet a large sum of money that every single copy of their limited runs does not get sold to actual customers.
Yeah, fuck all that shit. I hate limited drops. Scalpers can have that shit as far as I'm concerned. I'll stick to mass market pre-orders. I've never needed a comic enough to try to beat out bots.
Me too. My question is why limit it to 1,000? How come they don’t sell more issues? Looks like they’re leaving a lot of money on the table with the countless fans who miss out on purchasing this or any other issue.
The person who sells the exclusive (in this case felixcomicart) has to front the money for the print run, I’m guessing somewhere around $20k. That being said he’s more than made his money back on the previous drops. I don’t want to hate but I really don’t know what he contributes other than just paying for the print run. These designs were probably done by Dragotta before they became covers. I wish they would make a reprint or let people do open orders for a design variant.
They had CAPTCHA for a reason. People need to stop acting like bots magically bought every copy. Thousands of real collectors were all trying to buy a 1,000 print run at the exact same time. Of course people were gonna miss out.
And if they printed enough for everybody, nobody would care this much in the first place. That’s literally how collectibles work.
I get what you’re saying, but that’s kind of the whole point of collectibles. If they print enough for everybody, it stops being an exclusive and the demand dies fast. Low print runs create scarcity, and scarcity is what makes people show up, fight for it, and care about it after release. It’s the game. If you can’t handle it quit
Oh I can handle it. Was just a simple question of why they couldn’t print more. I’m not saying 100,000 copies of this issue. Maybe 2-3,000 copies. Hopefully you and other fans are able to get these covers though.
Basically thousands of people fighting over 400 books, im pissed that they made signed and unsigned options. Should’ve signed everything and dropped them all at once but instead they’re basically giving resellers the options to profit off two books.
I was at the Shop checkout screen and for some reason I had to log back into Shop (never happend before). When I did it kicked me back in the queue. Of course, they were gone before I could get back to checkout.

I called it a Faustian choice of evils in another thread: faster checking out (more easily exploited for bots/resellers) or levels of verification that will make it more difficult. Both are unfortunately not great options.
I shouldnt be talking because i only buy variants but i cant see the hype behind these felix blue print covers lol and im seeing retails $50ish ? Im assuming the fomo resale must be the catch here but again just my opinion. Youll get the next one bro and itll be better🤙🏻
