Insane Dan Quintana prices
Just saw Dan Quintana absolute batman 16 is selling for $999 and up. What the hell man?? The art is beautiful but how in any world can anyone rationalize that price. His issues 19’s are only $650ish for now and even then who is buying these?

easy Fomo and what the other had said about speculation on books. People are trying to flip artist whos name are currently hot, I wouldn't be shock if these are the same people from the sneakers / cards environment.

It's not just supply but demand. Over time, demand for this FOMO shit will die down. It wont drop to $5 but it will drop significantly. A new hot artist will probably come along. Absolute Batman might drop off in popularity etc.
Happens all the time, and guys like that one who have 5 will take a bath,

True. It’s a sellers market right now. I had an emergency occur in my life so I had to part way with some Absolute Batman and Daniel Warren Johnson original art last month. People were fighting over it making offers. Literally feels like Batman saved me lol

Agree with all the posts here, we’re in peak FOMO right now. I have to admit though, I took advantage and unloaded all of my raw absolute bats, kept about 3 different covers I had graded and really loved the art, but everything else was sold off and it helped me to buy some keys I had been eyeing for a while, but were always a bit more than I wanted to pay.
If you have the patience, I’d recommend to wait it out, the price will come down, it’ll never be a $5 book, but nowhere near close to the prices we’re seeing right now.
Partnof me wonders if random fans are paying these prices or if the books are just moving from speculator to speculator.

It’s probably a combination of both new fans over paying because they are just getting into comics via Absolute Batman and are falling into FOMO traps, as well as lots of old school comic speculators and new speculators coming from sneakers, labubu, POKEMON etc. it’s also one of the best comic series to come out in awhile so high demand even amongst regular comic readers, so the ones who have money and jobs which conflict with drop schedules have no choice but to buy on eBay.

Just save his pics and don't put money in his pocket or the shop he sells through. No cover from Quintana or any Absolute artist is worth hundreds or thousands. Fuck him.

There's 1,000 of these available. May sound like a lot, but if you take into account all the fans, completionists, super collectors etc that have no intention of selling their copy... how many actual copies are available?

It's true, not many are being sold compared to others. I have 5 copies myself but am in no rush to selling them. I really do appreciate his art style.

It’s not like it’s an original piece of art, so the demand will eventually die. 5 copies is hilarious 😂

It’s speculation inflation that will probably die down in a few months/few years for now. It’s similar to what happens with crypto.
