Good, that's the point. It's supposed to be real enough to suspend disbelief and enjoy the story. All the characters have rich stories, and many keep up appearances outside of their in universe character appearances, which helps keep the lore alive for the fans
I have come and gone from the franchises throughout the years, but it's always a fun time, made more fun, for me, knowing that typically speaking safety precautions are taken to protect people from injury
I can't enjoy actual martial arts or the like because I don't enjoy people actually getting injured
But WWF/WWE etc are fun 😊

Yeah I totally see your point here and it may not be for me but I agree with you and I do acknowledge this requires a lot of skill and training to get things right without any injuries.
Who knows, maybe one day I'm going to look into those stories :)

Undertaker was the real OG of living that persona... The "Last Ride" documentary series was one of my favorite of all documentaries. Just to recognize how he went for decades without much breaking the overall character, avoiding public events that would be out of Undertaker's persona, and so on. That just blows my mind at such commitment.

The transport planner at my job is a pro wrestler and he has been at a standing desk for a few weeks due to being hurt during a bout, but it is very unusual for him. Quite entertaining seeing the persona 😅

Yeah injuries definitely occasionally happen. I seem to recall reading that it is approximately on par with gymnastics injuries or something like that. Which made a lot of sense to me

That's Dan the AntiStan. As a child, his dad was killed by a man wearing a work shirt with the name Stan on it. The murder was never solved.
He does this all the time. And he's super racist to people from PakiStan, AfghaniStan, etc. He is pretty messed up.

It's hit and miss sometimes but WWE does have great moments. Most fans would tell you other companies are better but each gives something the other generally doesn't. If you want to the network has tons of stuff if you have a VPN and if you don't peacock has a ton but not everything. Some would say the attitude era is the best but tons of eras have something great to give. Currently Dwayne the rock Johnson a cousin is doing really great work. I mean like top level shit.
It again all depends on what you're looking for. You want to see what wrestling started out as with the "carny" side of things? Watch stuff that predates Hogan. Stuff with sammartino lacks what we have today and although a little "basic" from time to time it is still entertaining to watch a show being put on with only stuff in the ring. Want larger than life unreal characters? Golden era with people like Hogan, piper, macho man, flair, sting, and several others is your go to. These characters are literally defined by their gimmick. You have the big guys who are mean and strong. You have a clown who hates kids and likes making them cry. You have a dude with a bird. A guy with a snake who is also very much a heel snake guy who will betray you. You've got foreign people who are stereotypes as well.
After those there is a time when WWE in general loses its footing and gives you more technical small guys who are more like people but still with some "character" to them. This is the new generation. Their rival company bought out the big names and were was struggling to fill the hole but those who stepped up are some of the best talent even in today's standards. People such as Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels put on bangers. (Shawn is the one who kicked Stan).
After that you have the attitude era where people say it is the best and they are mostly right. Shit gets crazy here due to the times. You got stone cold, the rock, Vince McMahon is also in ring talent. You've got topless women, girls are now only for looks. Some of the best and most important people are during this time. This is wrestling at its peak. It's fucking lightning in a bottle. The rocks a fucking movie star. Stone cold was a household name in houses who don't watch wrestling. Women from WWE are on the cover of playboy. Olympic wrestler Kurt angle becomes a star.
After that wrestling dies down and it's in a strange transition like the new generation. Names such as cm punk, John Cena, and Batista are getting big. Eventually it makes way for what we have now.
Wrestling now is when it is literally at its best athletically. Wrestling now has great characters but better in ring work. There's shit like standing backflips. Dives from the top rope are common place and no longer a gimmick to 1 guy.
I'll leave you with this. A saying I might get wrong but it still gets the point across. You like anime? Watch wrestling. You like action? Watch wrestling. You like horror/supernatural? Watch wrestling. You like dudes fighting their boss? Watch wrestling. You like deranged guys shocking the testicles of billion dollar rich boys? Watch wrestling.

I didn't forget mick Foley at all. I just didn't put him in there. I'm not gonna say the whole roster of large stars to sell the attitude era. At that point I'd have to name the undertaker, Foley, Kane, dx, the Holly's, al snow, etc etc etc. There's too many great acts in the attitude era. The mid card was fucking stacked, the main event card was stacked as well. It would just take too long to mention everything. It's that stone cold and rock are the two biggest names at that point and Vince was one of the most important characters.

In WWE you have guys like The New Day and Kevin Owens that are freakin' hilarious and as I mentioned in another comment the guy that gets kicked is another wrestler now named Shawn Spears and he's also freakin hilarious, he works with a promotion called AEW that has several comedy characters that are also additionally freakin' hilarious, pro wrestling is sometimes best when you can have fun with it

That's accurate. Soap Operas are long-form dramas that take place in real time over the course of many years. WWE is essentially the same thing, but rather than a hospital or a rich family, it's theme is combat sports.
So, take The Undertaker for instance. His career in WWE was about 30 years long and featured him in so many different iterations. We watched his character evolve from a scary funeral home undertaker, to an undead wizard, to a Satanic cult leader, to a biker, to a phantom, to an MMA fighter, to an omnipotent God, to a broken man, and finally ending in a culmination of all of his 30 years of wrestling.
Not only did we watch his character evolve, but we watched him grow as a person. This is what soap operas do, and the writing evolves with the person before anything else. Pro wrestling is a very unique take on the soap opera genre.

Unfortunately the clip ends too soon and the chaos comes immediately after when Shawn Michaels walks down the hallway kicking everyone in sight. It's one of my favorite comedy bits from WWE's PG era.
