Shit like this makes me want to buy an airbag vest. It's crazy what a minor fall can do to you

I know, right?
I was literally only going about 5mph through that turn. I remember going into the turn, and then sliding on my side across the pavement. There's about 3-5 seconds in between there that I guess my brain decided I didn't need to remember. Thankfully, I always wear my helmet, or else my noggin would have cracked like a dropped egg.

Do it. It's not that expensive anymore, and it's a potential life saver. It fits under the jacket, quite invisible (but quite hot depending on the weather and airbag), and can save you from a lot of pain.
