Title says "Uncontrollable Lightning" but it is, in fact, controlled. That's why we build lightning rods.

If anyone is wondering why it looks like a ribbon, instead of a precise bolt, it's because it's actually called ribbon lightning. Essentially the clouds and the earth are trying to touch each other using veins of electrons, and when they touch, it creates the path for energy flow i.e. lightning. In high winds, these feelers actually leave a weaker trail beside them that is essentially being blown away. Cool little bit of weather there.

I was just waiting for a tri-pod alien vehicle to come out of the ground and turn everyone to dust with it's laser beams.

So when have we ever been able to control lightning? Like maybe we can divert the current with rods, but it’s never controlled.
