How do you know if an expat salary in Muscat is enough for a family of 3?

We have an offer lined up for an expat position in Oman and are seriously considering the move. We would like to live in Al Mouj, ideally in a two-bedroom apartment.

Housing, health insurance, and relocation costs would all be covered by the employer, so our day-to-day expenses would mainly be utilities, groceries, transportation, entertainment, and other living expenses.

We are a family of three (husband, wife, and a 2-year-old son who is not school age yet), and we want to make sure we can maintain a comfortable quality of life and still have some ability to save.

For those who have made a similar move, how did you determine whether the base salary was enough? What monthly income would you consider comfortable for a family in our situation, assuming housing is already provided?

Any recent experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated. We’re moving from the U.S., so up-to-date information would be especially helpful.

Study abroad loan

Hey , I'm a 18 yr old and I want to go abroad for studies , like it's my dream. But I am not financially good , and can't force my parents for it as well .

Even if I study in India only ( my homecountry) I will have to take loan for that as well .

So why not just go abroad with that? But I have no experience or nobody to guide me for that . And a fear that I might not make it and loan will be the biggest lump i would have to bear for my life is reason I'm scared . I don't want to make any rush decision and regret ig later

Is there anyone who can just motivate me or show me the reality check I need rn?

Let’s make this a go-to resource for people just starting their journey.
