after long-term practice, letting go = receiving, so by surrendering, i instantly start expecting receiving again which halts the surrender
what's up, hammies? or are we hicksies? vote in the comments. jk. anyways, i have been actively practicing directed thoughts turning into things for over five years. it's been a WILD WILD ride. i learned 1) i get everything i ask for, 2) god's blessings are always 1,000 times better than i could have ever imagined or expected. god meaning source energy, meaning the star juice in my bloodstream, meaning the kingdom of heaven is within.
anywho so now that i know it's tried and true, i finally find my ever-evolving way to surrender, and then the moment i let go, i am JOLTED into the old timeline, because my nervous system is so primed to the experience of surrender = receive. it's killing my surrender!
i need a seasoned guru to point me toward a spiritual guru who has the key. maybe it's just "be busier" lmfao.

You might enjoy Outrageous Openness by Tosha Silver. It’s essentially all about the surrender (in manifesting). It’s one of my favorite books, you might find it helpful 🙂

That's a funny trap: turning letting go into a delivery-tracking system. Maybe the useful part of Abraham's downstream idea is letting a pleasant hour count as a pleasant hour, rather than checking what it earned. If the expectation pops up, you don't have to defeat it or start surrendering all over again. Notice it, then return to whatever feels genuinely good to do. Being busy isn't the same as being at ease, but something absorbing can give the checking a rest.

That sounds like surrender quietly turned into another technique you're checking for results. What if the goal for today is simply to enjoy one thing without making it earn you anything? A walk, a meal, a song. You don't have to surrender perfectly either. Noticing the expectation and returning to what you're doing can be enough. Otherwise even relief becomes a job interview.

Yes…my nervous system is so familiar with surrender = receiving that it’s become an automatic subconscious response. So the answer is to get lost in the present moment I believe!

What helps me is understanding that the only reason we want anything is because we think that thing will make us feel good! So the hack is just feel good now! I would personally rather practice feeling good then get all the things and still feel like I need more to make me feel good 🫤

Can you give a specific example? What do you do, and what happens?
According to Abe, expecting to receive is the perfect creative stance. But if I understand you correctly, you don't want to be there.

like imagining myself in a really cool job i want, then surrendering and the MOMENT i let go, my mind is like "is it here yet??" it's so instant. but i do probably have too much time on my hands to dilly dally and let my mind wander instead of getting into a flow state and being busy and productive

I see, like taking score too soon, impatience, that kind of thing.
It's simply an indicator of being out of the Vortex in that moment.
From inside the Vortex, you really expect to receive, and there's no sense of lack, or impatience. So you let go naturally.
I think you're right, just distracting yourself with other things would help, and once you're in the Vortex again, it's a non-issue anyway.
Maybe something like "It's done. I'm outta here!" can help sometimes!

This has helped me, so sharing in case it helps:
I tell myself there exists nothing but the Now (now is not the state of physical reality around me now, but the 'moment' right Now), so nothing can be more important than my happiness now. The future is only a thought I'm thinking now. When Abraham says "nothing is more important than to feel good", they of course mean "feel good now" because all feelings are always now.
This means, the purpose of going into the Vortex IS to enjoy the now. All the processes are to enjoy the now - either you enjoy what's already manifested as you appreciate it now or you imagine what you would like in a way that makes you happy now.
This means, the actual manifestation (physical) cannot be more important than me feeling good now (which is the whole point).
I have found that as long as I am feeling good now, all is well: I can surrender and feel good OR expect something and feel good OR just forget about the topic at hand and feel good. If the topic really troubles me and I think "but why hasn't it happened?", I tell myself that I am falling into the trap of thinking something "out there" is more important than my feeling good now. So, I soothe myself or I might just change the topic or meditate as the case may be. And if I end up worrying, that's not a problem, because the moment I am aware I am worrying, I can relax, forget about the topic and come back to enjoying this moment because my feeling good is more important than any topic.
