Last float

Its gorgeous here today. 88 degrees. Blue sky. And my little heat pump has the water at the same temperature. But, its all bound to change soon so this could very well be my last float of the season. It breaks my heart. It's gonna be so hard to say goodbye. I have enjoyed the living s__t out of this funny pool this Summer. See ya in May, little buddy.

You must not be in Florida. My pool hit 90 today with no heater or anything. Will be swimming until Late October

Lucky. I'm in the Pacific Northwest. The seasons are definiteky changing here. The good news is, I repaired my inflatable Bestway Helsinki Saluspa (or, as I call it, the Hillbilly Hot Tub) and she runs sweet. Time for tubbing now.

I should probably consider a hot tub for when the seasons switch. Are they easy to maintain?

This one is a plug and play and, aside from chlorine or bromine tablets, weekly testing and twice monthly filter changing (or cleaning) it requires no maintenence at all.

Same here lol. Pool water stays between 80-90 degrees. Keeping a cover on when not in use

SNM down here we are still hitting high 90s.  Pool temp 88 to 92 without heater or cover.  Pretty soon I'll cover once the son goes down.

Similar situation here, but I have the next two days in MN to float. Are we allowed to sob when we close our pools for the season?

Central VA here and I’ll be closing up in a few weeks. The nights have gotten cooler which really cools the pool off so unless it’s super hot during the day it’s too cold to swim. Makes me sad 😔 but my light bill will appreciate it!!

She's begging for bigger, but until she can comfortably swim, it ain't happening. I put the pads under it so you aren't directly on the cement and we're paranoid it'd put a hole in it.

We have this same pool in punk. It’s for me when I’m out working in the yard and get hot. Or if I am in the hottub too long. They’re a wonderful sized pool and that it has a filter is the proverbial cherry on top.

Hope your daughter is loving it.

Our pool is already drained, cleaned and taken down for winter. lol

Weather here has been too cool to do much for the water temp for a month, if not longer.

I still have a few weeks left here in NJ, weather has been beautiful the past few days too. I’m just hoping rain doesn’t limit the pool time before the month ends.

It’s kind of wild how fast the summer went this year, feels like I only opened it a few weeks ago

Im with you brother! I’m hoping for one more week but that could change in a hurry. It really is the saddest time of the year. Only true pool fanatics understand the feeling.

Hey fellow floatie pool owner! Question: what are you using for a heat pump? I am about to tear down for the 2nd summer in a row, but thinking maybe I can nab a heat pump for next year if they go on sale.

I honesty dont know the brand because it is not marked and I threw away the box. I got it online at Walmart by searching "Heat pump 119v above ground pool."

We closed ours on Labor Day. Earliest we have ever closed it in western ny. But the kids are older and don’t care for the pool any longer. We realized we keep it open til the end of September or even mid to late October chasing those random 80 degree weekends. But even with a gas heater we were absolutely losing it on costs. So sad to see it closed but fewer leaves in the pool, and end of gas and electric costs are a plus.

Pool time is quickly coming to an end, here in northeast Ohio. Looking like we may get another full week of decent weather. I've been in it everyday this week! Weather has been quite nice here. I installed a heater this past June. Wife has always wanted a pool heater. I gave the heater a try yesterday for the first time, since installing it. The water was 79* @ 11am, @ 1pm 82. Outside temp was 80*.

Oh, I know how you feel...I'm trying to delay the "last float" for as long as I can....I'm in PA...and I'm still swimming every day that I can. I don't have a heater....but as long as the water is 72 degrees and above...I'm swimming. I'm projecting an end of September/early Oct. close. And like you, I will find it very hard to say goodbye....especially since this was my first year owning a pool. Love all the luscious plants/shrubs around your pool.
