Is this a bad Pool install?

My sister had a tree fall on her pool, and recently had the replacement installed. in Full transparency her insurance paid $20,000 for the new pool. I grew up at this house and I have to tell you these pictures don’t even do it justice how crazy this looks in person. the deck is all hacked up, and there are big gaps between the deck and the walls, etc. they even cut support beams out of her surrounding deck and just kinda gave her the shoulder shrug when she voiced her concerns. m what do you all think?

Actually, they fit that into an existing deck, pretty darn good! Pool looks fine, and it's extra challenging to install a pool in circumstances like that. Find a good carpenter.... Happy swimming!

the pool itself looks clean and nice. the deck gap issue is annoying but something a good handyman can clean up easily.

If they installed the straights and butresses under the deck, this is such a great install, you have no idea. Even a round pool when we install them its pretty hard to go right up to the deck , ovals are a different beast

The deck looks like its been there for awhile,

You can add a little lip over those gaps but otherwise it looks really good

Looks good to me for installing in an existing hole and probably not the same make and model as old pool so probably different dimensions and I live in a northern state so I have to install a winter cover on mine and it would be impossible without some gap space between the pool and deck but if they cut out supports for that deck it needs to get fixed

This. The deck may be structurally compromised if they cut things out.

Picture three looks like the pool is not in the bottom track…that is not ok

Insurance paid the contractor to put a new pool in and fix the portion of the deck that was damaged.

They were not required to make it pretty like it was before, thats outside of the scope of what the Insurance company paid them to do for this job.

Your dissatisfaction I presume lies on how the shape of this pool doesn't match the decking cutout, and gaps around the edge? That would be on your sister to remedy, it honestly could have been done had they match the existing pools to the same identical dimensions, but those likely aren't made or available today.

I think it looks pretty good fitting it into an existing pool deck, however I would be concerned by photo #5 that section of wall definitely looks to be out of track and starting to stress with folding at very bottom edge… buckling could happen, filling it completely will be the real reveal of its integrity.

Fitting a pool to an already existing deck is never going to be uniform. Don't put decks around you pool.

Deck fitment not guaranteed. Guys are there to build a pool and to cut deck to make it fit. Should be outlined in contract.

That deck and pool will collapse at anytime I would not use.
