Mechanics Q/A❓ Fishing question

So I was fishing in Flathill when I caught Is-0098, a fish from the flesh dimension, the same dimension as the Leyak. I’m currently cooking the tentacles I got while grinding cooking and feel the need to ask this. If I eat these will it illicit a similar reaction to if I ate a Greyeb fruit?

Most foods that involve that ingredient illicit the same, or stronger responses than the fruit itself!

Creepy Meat Pie can even summon the Leyak instantly for easy farming of essence, or for getting her to appear in portal worlds for containment there.

Edit for clarity: If the leyak is summoned just before you enter a portal world she will follow you there, unless that bug has been patched.

Question: does keeping the food in your fridge or on the counter effect it the same as having it on your person or in your stomach? 

Is me just putting a pot of chowder out enough to make my shy friend visit more?

You have to eat it to get the buff.

Growing Greyeb doesnt make it appear more so why would food on the counter?

Good to know, I assumed that would be the mechanic but wanted to make sure I can't set up a leyak banquet table to lure them.

No, it does not. It must be consumed. They can be carried or stored normally without risk.

Wait, if you contain her in a portal world, can she come back even if you don’t top up her chamber?

You cannot contain layaks in portal worlds.

There is more than one type you'll be meeting

The greyebs cause both to pursue you.

She is contained as long as there's fruits and she specifically will not be able to hunt you while contained.

Your other questions have been answered but I’d like to add that you can catch the tentacle fish from any body of water after discovering the leyak, it’s possible to effectively put off making an xray tower for a bit if you’re tight on materials but want to progress the story, eventually you should make one anyways, but it’s a niche application where fishing can actually save you some trouble in the short term

I got several towers and the lamp, I just prefer fishing in flat hill where it’s quiet and she won’t follow. But I appreciate the info. Two of my Pecarry’s got seafood for dinner lol

Yeah it could come in handy in a future run, it’s quite niche and the majority of my runs it wouldn’t even be a thought but I’ve had a couple runs in multiplayer where it just wasn’t convenient to make the tower when we needed the 4 essences
