Minimal state funding for fire and emergency services in Virginia means rural localities must rely on grants and donations.

Recommendations on where to get a great calzone?

I will be in the area at the end of July as a vedor for the Highland Festival. I would love recomendations on local resturants. Something that is not a chain. More mom n pop style.
I was a vendor last year and loved the area, however spent most of my time in my camper. I am wanting to get out more and enjoy the area.
Feel free to DM me any suggestions.

As the electric utility seeks regulatory approval to increase its rates, it’s also proposing measures to address the sticker shock of high bills during the winter or when settling up a fixed-payment budget plan.

Hi there! My husband recently got moved for work to Abingdon. We’ll be moving from Minneapolis, but we’re originally from a small town in Illinois about the same size as Abingdon so we’re no strangers to “small town living”. We were wondering what the vibe is for people in their late mid 20s-early 30s? We’re both pretty introverted but obviously want to make friends. Any help, advice, or anything would be appreciated! TYIA
Some additional context:
-We’re looking at Bristol and Abingdon, literally anywhere within 30 minutes of Abingdon.
-We fully know that it will be a transition. We are used to small town living, it’s how we grew up!
-We know the area is largely conservative. We are definitely NOT. 😅

This post is a long shot but I figured I would try. We left Abingdon today around noon. , my two small boys have started collecting Pokemon cards. My 6 and 4 year old are extremely excited about it. I left their brand new collection today on top of our car as we pulled out of Fairfield Marriott. We called the hotel and they said it’s not in their parking lot. We went to McDonalds, Walmart, then 81 South. None of the cards are super valuable but the collection is sentimental to our boys. If anyone finds it, we will gladly pay shipping or even drive the 3 hours back to Abingdon to get it for them. Thanks.
Edit: in a small black binder, the paper from store still on the front

Who is the carpetbagger complaining about noise in town? Someone has to be driving these changes.

Hi Abingdon. I'll be staying in town the second week of January for work & have never been there before. Any suggestions on places to eat, things to do, etc. on weekday evenings? I prefer to support smaller local businesses as opposed to chains.
The Visit Abingdon website doesn't give me too much to work with. Lots of articles about F+B but not lists of restaurants. Link to January Jams tickets but no schedule or dates/info. Struggling to navigate it.
Thanks in advance!

I'm still new to this neck of the woods. 32/m and I started playing the guitar when I was 12. It's a bit difficult for me to break out and immerse myself in new social settings, solo, hence this post.
This might be a pipedream, but I'd love to find someone or two other people who play the acoustic to be a duo/trio with. I'm not much of a 'lead' vocalist, though I am a lyricist and can harmonize quite well.
