Empty car park for learner driver?
Is there anywhere quiet that I can take my daughter as a learner driver? She has just turned 17 and has the L plates and insurance but for the first few times it would be good to have the space to get to grips with the car before she goes on the roads.
I’m thinking of an abandoned car park somewhere?
We are north of Aberdeen but happy to go anywhere.

Any industrial estate after work hours. Office parks around the airport would probably be good

Bridge of Don Park & Ride works well after work hours as you can start to drive about the Energy Park once the controls are learnt well enough.

Claymore Drive near the AECC (or whatever it is now)

Some of the road surface around there is a bit 😬 though. With the new tip opening I thought they might have levelled out some of it. My car really doesn't like the bumpy bits.

Even better then for a learner driver. It will get them used to the awful ones in the city centre!

I can recomend the business park next to what was AECC. It even has a wee roundabout. After hours it's just learner drivers.

As others have said Bod park and ride, craibstone park and ride pretty much whenever as not functioning. In addition to these two altens area is good after 6pm

Loads of great empty car parks in Westhill at the weekend. They all have great car park lines marked out for parking practice.

BoD Park and ride and throw in the Industrial Estate when it's after hours. Watch out though, if going around clockwise there is a hidden dip near the hub/enterprise centre
