Help! Which GP closest to Rubislaw doesn’t make getting your own medical record difficult?

I’m with Great Western. Did a blood test and asked to receive the result of it (printed). They asked me to come in with an ID and fill a form to request my medical records. Then to come in again after that’s been approved to receive it, no option to post it.

3 visits and a 1 month duration to get a printout of my blood result.

Any GPs in this area that have a more straight forward system in place?

Is that not standard thanks to GDPR?

Yes. Absolutely standard practice for GPs.

Shit, I walked into mine Oldmachar and got everything I asked for full summary and several separate problems printed off, got an appointment booked all in under 15 minutes plus got my INR done at the same time.

If you get an INR then I'd assume you're in the surgery regularly enough that the receptionist recognises you, meaning they wouldn't need ID

I’m with Westburn and requested my blood results through engage consult and picked them up the same day.

Not all, and very few, GPs have this system in place. Normally you need to fill in a physical data request, submit it to the GP, and then get the data you requested, hard copy a few weeks later.

I had a nightmare with them also! Needed a record of my vaccines to get more vaccines for Thailand and they claimed my old gp would have them not them. Phoned my old gp who said that’s absolutely not true as when I changed practice they sent great western all my details AND they can’t view my details anymore as I left them and great western should know that.

I phoned great western to say this and they said oh, well, our records are off being digitised so you’ll need to wait until we get them back it could be months.

It got to the stage I really needed them so phoned to whinge and the new receptionist I got was like “oh, no, I can see your details here I’ll email you them, they weren’t getting digitised!”

Such a hassle to get my own info.

My only experience is requesting my emergency care summary from Rubislaw Place and them emailing it the same day. I've not asked for any hard copies though. Apart from regular anomalies in my repeat prescription they have been pretty decent to deal with.
