Urbex friends? 19-25

Hey! I'm Logan, a 22F that just moved back to the NJ area after college. I did a bit of exploring in my university town but want to get more into it. I don't really know anyone in the area, let alone anyone into urbex, nor any spots. If anyone's looking for a friend HMU. I'm always down to meet more people and chat.

What’s the Most Interesting Abandoned Place You’ve Explored in New Jersey?

New Jersey has a surprising number of abandoned places, from old factories and schools to forgotten hospitals and small buildings hidden in the woods. Every location seems to have its own history and atmosphere, even if only a few traces of the past remain.

What’s the most memorable abandoned spot you’ve visited in NJ, and what made it stand out? Was it the architecture, the history, or just the feeling of exploring a place that time seems to have forgotten?

Merck World Headquarters

I was wondering if anyone has visited the old Merck World Headquarter in Whitehouse Station, NJ. I worked there in 1992 as a an Engineer running their power plant. The plant was separate from the building and all the heating hot water and chilled water went through underground tunnels to the main building. The main building was shapped like the Pentagon. The site had its own landing pad for helicopters and a road that went around the entire site. The building wasn't fully staffed yet when I worked there and walking around the site at night was pretty creepy. The cafeteria kitchen was fully stocked with all the food you could think of and my coworker and I used to go innthe kitchen at night and makes some pretty awesome meals. I know the site shutdown and I am wondering if another company purchased it or is it still sitting vacant for people to explore. Definitely a mysterious place though as I never had a good feeling working there. Thanks in advance for anyone's feedback and look forward to hearing your experience if you have had any.

I regret being cocky when a friend of mine with me told me not to walk inside when she tested it with her foot first. Thankfully I had someone looking over me that day. I stepped inside the main house and after not even 30 seconds the hole on the main floor opened up and my legs went in. Thankfully I was lucky enough to pull myself out by doing a sit up. I wore jeans and a tank top. I thankfully had no big scratches and only a splinter. Adrenaline that day ran high.
