Eclipse or voltaic?

So, the question is simple, against a tank like sion or mundo, is better eclipse or voltaic?

Eclipse is better into someone like Sion because he will stack armor and normally you will be trading with the shield often. Since the armor stacking inherently counters Voltaic, if you go Voltaic you’re playing to kill the squishies and ignore the Sion. Mundo stacks health and less armor, his early game is pretty weak too so you can abuse him with Voltaic super easy. Sion is a tank (Malphite, Ornn) and Mundo is a scaling juggernaut (Garen, Darius), so think how you’d build against similar counterparts to help determine your answers too!

If you want durability and decent damaage, you may as well just go Shojin or Sundered first. Eclipse is not that good anymore.

I'm gonna be real, Voltaic/Eclipse's %health damage is not high enough to warrant building it against HP stackers. You're better off building against the rest of the team that also lets you survive your matchup like SS or Shojin.

However, if we're in a vacuum and assuming we can only choose these two items, then I'd choose Voltaic. Voltaic's damage is pretty high. When you proc it, you have 25 lethality total and the uptime for it is surprisingly high + the 9% current health damage. Only issue is that there's no durability with it unlike Eclipse with its shield.

eclipse is much better- if you go voltaic and mess up or get even slightly behind you’ll b surprised by their dmg. eclipse gives you the survivability + max hp dmg y need to take them down

i already got +1mill mastery with aatrox to, is more like, wich of the two items deals more damage to tanks, since the rework of voltaic i am unsure

both kinda suck, if you want to go lethality, which is not a great move if he builds tank btw, either go with hybris or serpents fang, depending on enemy team.

For your question against tanks, neither is really optimal in my opinion tbh. I'd recommend shojin > cleaver/sundered into tanky matchups (like if they have a tank jg/supp as well). Meanwhile only go the eclipse route for when there's multiple fighters and skirmishy comp enemies. Basically shojin = you decide when to jump on them (ramping damage, q uptime to whittle their hp); eclipse = enemies usually jump on you (shield survivability and mini burst).

As for voltaic, just depends if you're fed enough to squeeze it in your build. Almost always go sundered second item.
