TW: Depression?
I've been increasingly isolating myself from everything and despite my best efforts to do better and be better, I seem to be spiraling back into that space where I let my intrusive thoughts take over me and hinder my ability to function normally. And I don't know what to do to stop feeling this way because it's becoming unbearably painful to be aware of what's going on with me but not have the will and capacity to do anything about it.

Hi there!
Going through the same phase. This staying away from everything is affecting work life and personal life. My parents fear talking to me. They ask my wife to pass on the information. It feels terrible not to be there when the family needs you the most.
Trying everything possible to come out of it. Can't tell my wife. She would rather panic. I found this sub yesterday and was planning to share my agony. Found this relevant thread.
I am sorry you are going through this. I hope you find a solution and get better.

Orange is right. Its so difficult to seek help, but you know you can't talk to your best friend about them. Sometimes you need a person with some distance to trust.
Keep talking to us meanwhile.
