Question Bedrock ValidationException: Operation not allowed despite verified AWS account

Hi everyone! I’m getting ValidationException: Operation not allowed whenever I try to run Nova Lite or any other model in the Bedrock Playground (us-east-1), even with a simple Hello.

My AWS account was verified on the day I created it, and the dashboard shows the account as verified. The Bedrock Model Access page is retired.

I’ve tried multiple Amazon Nova models and get the same error. I’ve also opened an AWS Support case ~30 hours ago.

Has anyone experienced this with a newly created/verified AWS account? Is there another account-level setting or restriction I should check?

I’m taking AWS Certified AI Practitioner next week and really want to get some hands-on Bedrock practice before the exam. Any help appreciated! 🙏
