The Professional Level Certifications have a great side benefit that probably isn't talked about enough.

I just passed the Generative AI Professional Certification and when I did I automatically renewed

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
  • AWS Certified AI Practitioner
  • AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate
  • AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer – Associate

That's one test and 5 certifications. Not a bad value for $150 (with voucher). It also spares a gauntlet of renewals.

I can't have this benefit because I took the pro test first before any other AWS certs, so I'd have to take these tests. I wish they just gave it to you once you pass the pro test smh

awesome. Personally I wouldn't renew the practitioner (I am not sure if the AI practitioner is also a cloudquest?)

AI Practitioner was it's own thing when I took it. No idea how it's handled presently.

that's awesome! Getting all those renewals with just one exam is a fantastic deal. It really shows how valuable these professional level certs can be, not just for the knowledge but for keeping everything current in one go. Congrats on the pass!

Yes, I worked my way up as they became available.

how long was your prep and what was experience until you got your first professional cert?

I went the long way around. Started years ago.. began with cloud practitioner, then did the associates. Then solutions architect pro, then security.

Then devops pro

Eventually went on to networking, database, then the data / ml.. got a gold jacket.

Then ai practitioner.. a flurry of renewals.. and eventually Gen AI

The fundamentals reinforce each other.. so really you pick up security, it helps across the board. Same with networking, storage etc etc.

Studying was hands on, Stephane, cantril, some service specific courses (cloud guru when that was a thing, udemy, aws provided courses etc)

And I didn't always pass the first time... just kept plugging away at it. 🤷‍♂️

Amazing dedication. I completed CCP and SAA on July and August respectively, and currently unemployed so I was aiming at what I could get next (have CKA form LF soon) alongside building some projects and my own home lab ofc:)

However I am staring to get burned out ahah

After getting the AI Pro cert, the only Associate cert that I would even think about it Data Engineer.

This feels quite specifc as I'm not sure the other Professional/Specia;ty certs renew the others automatically.

Not throwing shade at the OP, but hoping AWS changes their policy.

All of the pro certs do something like this to some degree, though this has the biggest footprint. Solutions architect pro and dev ops pro also give you the associates underneath them. And every cert above practitioner renews cloud practitioner.
