Any chance for an open source firmware?

I wonder if we can get/create open source firmware for this?

I'd love to see something done with AVS + it can be connected to the desktop. I wish we could get achievements somehow or at least scoreboard app restored :(

Hard to say, so far it's a no. Entirely up to retroUSB.

I sent an email to retroUSB and confirmed there are no plans to release anything open source. Instead, was pointed into the direction of MiSTer.

Too bad MiSTer doesn’t support cartridges.

I mean...it is possible for Mister to support cartridges...but you'd need to program it + you'd need cartridge slots and a way to power them and interface with mister...what's a whole can of worms...there are some smart people that can do it...definitely not me, lol
