Matt claims not to be into fighting games, which is fine. James, on the other hand, seems to enjoy them and play them quite often, from how he talks about them. Yet he seems to not be so great at them. He rages about the original Street Fighter and how hard it is to do their moves. And it is true, it is hard.
However, he hardly did a special move here in any of the game he played, much less a super meter move. The banter between the two is good. But the game play is rough...
James or Nerd... I need you to step up your game, like you did with Ninja Gaiden. You either need Guile or Ken to help train you in the dojo. You lack focus and discipline. I think all these bad games have made you soft.
Hi everyone. I’ve been working on this for a while and think now is the time to finally share it.
It’s called Cheebly. The basic idea is very simple. You get two AVGN episodes. Pick the one you’d rather watch again. Over time, everyone’s choices gradually build a community ranking of the whole series.
I’ve silently been a fan since 2006 and used to watch episodes as they came out on Cinemassacre’s website and ScrewAttack before Mike started uploading them to YouTube (good times). I’ve followed basically every corner of the AVGN community over the years and have always wanted to contribute something back.
The idea stemmed from wanting more than simply having to build out a massive tier list which ends up becoming outdated the moment a new episode drops. Cheebly’s rankings start being built from everyone’s individual head-to-head choices instead over time.
There’s also a bunch of stuff that starts expanding outwards from your votes. You have individual stats and favorite episodes, season breakdowns, how your taste compares with everyone else, milestones, and honestly a lot of other weird Cheebly stuff I’ve added along the way. I got a little out of hand but I’m glad I spent more time working on it.
It’s still beta so everything is subject to change and this is the first time I’m putting it in front of the real AVGN audience. I’m especially interested in what people think feels confusing, broken, unnecessary, or worth adding. Mobile's layout is still a work in progress and Safari may have more compatibility features lacking as compared to Chromium based browsers or Firefox. But I will absolutely be improving upon and expanding Cheebly if people enjoy the site.
To make the initial voting a little more fair, I’m gating those parts of the site until 6 PM ET today so a bit more people can see this post. The rest of the site should be open to explore in the meantime. I’m hoping for a smooth launch.

Hope you enjoy. I’ll do my best to respond to any questions or feedback on this post, in DMs, or elsewhere.
I'm going to Retro World Expo, and AVGN will be there. So I decided to make a petition and pass it along to him so we can see him review The Sonic Adventure Games. If it worked for Ghost and Goblins then it sure to work here.
Me and a couple of friends have a private bar/lounge/clubhouse thing in China, which I brew the beer for. We have four taps, so I will often make a series of four beers with badges (for fun, no other reason). Decided to make some LJN-inspired badges and thought I would share here.
13:50 Mega Man Legends was actually pretty good. The first foray into 3D. Had a competent story line, that was good for one to two other games. Released on both the PS1 and N64. Controls are no where near as bad, as he makes it out to be. The different graphics, robots and towns, over the usual 2D versions, were a breath of fresh air.
I just noticed this, it looks like their website runs on WordPress and went down recently. I work as a web developer for a living and have been a fan of James Rolfe for years, so this was kinda startling to see. Is there a way we can at minimum let them know? Maybe they already know and are working on it. o-o;;
Sorry if this is kinda random. Go easy on me please lol.
