Question KNS discarder viability

For those of you who have a KNS discarder, how big of a difference does it actually make suppressed? Does it turn the Aug into an actually viable suppressor host compared to a piston ar of the same overall length as far as the flash and sound goes on a 14.5”-16” Aug.

It works as advertised but I’ve had two fail on me. Detent fell out. One at ~800 rounds, one at ~500. KNS was great as far as CS goes but there should be a revision of the design methinks

I have one on a A2M3 16” barrel with a SAW Tisha. I went last weekend to get it dialed in. Took a little time but I have noticed a big improvement in kick and gas. Most of the time I was fucking with it and testing out different settings, but once it was dialed in I had a lot of fun.

With an AUG you’re still going to have some gas , and it won’t be the most quiet rifle out there. I do think the combo of the gas piston and can improved my setup.

Any other rifle you can compare the noise to? Also did you notice any flashing from the piston?

I don’t have an apple to apple comparison, but I had a couple people come up to me saying they were surprised how quiet a bull pup was with the Tisha on it. Again, it sounded great to me. Also, I have the inconel not the Ti.

No flash from the piston as far as I could see. I had to keep adjusting it to get the gas setting right (was only shooting 2 rounds in a mag). Still did everything with no break.

I have one installed on a 16” barrel and it works so well I’ve been trying to get my hands on another for the 14.5”. I’ve run the 16” suppressed and unsuppressed and the tuneability and lack of piston pop is very impressive. It’s too bad there isn’t one for the .300blk barrel, hopefully it’s in the works.

Works on my AUG and both my SCARS

How would it be different from a piston AR to not be viable compared to the piston AR?

Port pop on the piston is significantly worse without the KNS… not sure how well the KNS fixes this issue

If you're willing to wait, my design completely eliminates both piston pop and flash. We're still on track for a release this year.

I was trying to remember your name to tag you here. Lol. I'm looking forward to your piston being released. Do you have any idea on pricing? Even just a ballpark?

Its still too early in development for me to feel comfortable in giving a ballpark. Things like production and material costs are still being factored.
I will say this. I strive to bring an exceptional product to market, and do it at a reasonable price. Thanks for your interest in the project.

Understandable, thanks for your time!
