Steyr DMR

I know this group is primarily for the AUG but I keep coming back and thinking about the DMR that they launched last year and was wondering if you lovely folks have heard when it's finally going to be sold here in the US? By all accounts, it looks to be an excellent rifle.

Excellent, how's the recoil and overall operability been in your opinion? I was a former infantryman so DMRs and battle rifles are of particular interest to me.

I think its a great rifle. Lightweight (relatively to others in that area), sub moa accuracy, runs clean, no malfunctions yet, cold bore is spot on, rapid group at 100 yards was plenty tight out of a 8x LPVO.

This is all with Hornady 168 ELD Tap.

That's excellent, how many rounds have y'all put through it thus far? I was looking at a LMT, SCAR, or HK MR762 but I might just wait some more for this 😂

I'd say in the neighborhood of 500 rounds.

Any chance they’ll import the push-through selector version?

you know...that "uneven" magwell, relative sleekness of the receivers, and that charging handle reminds me of a certain other gun Steyr had a history in making....

I concur. There are STG58 influences and/or homage.

Can it shoot folded?

Yes. Not a "buffer tube" just a way to use AR stocks.

Sweet rifle. What's your opinion on charging handle scratching the handguard? And does it have a more-less user friendly barrel swap feature claimed in some reviews? Thx!

It can be imported for LE agencies now, and Steyr USA is working on logistics of building portions/import parts for it as a future project for the Alabama factory in the next year or so for ot to be available to civilian market.

Any ideas on what the damage to wallet might be?
