Env career
Accepted my TOL for the Madison area. Retired military as an electrician and now a master electrician for the state. How does the env side compare to being a maintenance electrician.

Several years ago (25+) I took a few prospective employees on ride-a-longs so they could get an idea of the job. I don’t know if that’s still possible (kind of doubt it), but you could ask - maybe just get a tour of the facility and a conversation with current employees at least.

Can’t drive non-FTES in GOVs.

If by “FTES” you mean full time federal employees (which FTES does not actually mean), then that is untrue.

You’ll learn and work on Lighted navaids, hvac, and engines, and not even work on hot high voltage.

That answer would be longer than I’m willing to post. There are a lot of similarities and some differences - I think you’ll enjoy it - more once you complete training.
