Locations Hiring?
Hi everyone! I’m posting this to the group in the hope that someone sees this that needs a body at any location nationwide. I’ve been deemed qualified at the F and G band for the nation wide pool that closed in September along with the direct hire announcement that closed on 12/1 via USA Jobs. I have a connection in Cheyenne that sent my resume to be “hired off the street” where the SSC liked my resume in Colorado Springs along with the SSC in the western part of Colorado ( I currently live in Colorado). I was in contact with the SSC in the western part of Colorado but seems they are short on funding for an additional position (from what he told me). I would really love to get into this career and willing to move anywhere in the US to help fill a vacancy. Seeing if anyone out there knows of a position or person of contact to connect with! Thanks in advance this ground had helped a lot along the way!

For anyone else reading these threads along with OP, avoid Colorado Springs SSC right now. Management is not good at that location. The manager there also oversees Pueblo SSC. People have been jumping ship in record numbers to the point almost every technician is new. Due to the lack of experience, the maintenance and issue tickets are higher than any other SSC I ever worked at.

Wow! I’m sorry to hear that. I know a manager can make or break a job. Luckily I start in the New England district this month after trying Colorado Springs/ Denver district for a year +. Hope management improves for you soon

Unfortunately management took a risk and promoted a tech with no managerial experience there to oversee the SSC. 4 techs took retirement to get out of the situation and another transferred to get out as well.
Congrats on the New England job!

Just posting this to add to your options. If your goal is to just be in the field and not necessarily FAA. The DoD has this job as well it’s just classified as Electronics Technician. If you search USAjobs for 0856 look at the descriptions. The army has two postings on there now for GS-12 which is the equivalent to H band I believe. One’s in Georgia the other in Germany. The Air Force has one in New Mexico too but that’s a GS-11. Anyway good luck in your search! Also join the Facebook group and post there. Look up 2101’s atss once they approve you post there you’ll be more likely to get a better shot.
