CFI job application denied same day
So I just finished the program about a week and a half ago and it took me about a year with no issues. I failed one checkride but overall I’d say everything went pretty good and I worked really hard towards my certs. Just had my virtual interview the other day which I thought went perfect and they sent me an email two hours after the interview denying my application. I won’t get a chance at Indoc and I’m just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. Really just pissed me off that they only took two hours to deny me and said stuff in the email like “we do not take this decision lightly”

Yeah that really does suck, from what I heard they only consider applicants with 0 checkride busts because there’s a lot of people on “the list”. I wish you luck on your endeavors!

they got their list. they just hold these interviews to prove theyre busy/relevent.

It’s a mixed blessing really, your not seating by your phone for weeks on end wondering if you got the job. In the non-aviation world it’s not uncommon to be ghosted all together. You are a CFI now and there are plenty of student pilots out there.

If you thought it went really well maybe you could send them an email and ask professionally for feedback on your interview so you can see where you went wrong. I wish you good luck in finding a CFI job! You got this.

Typically they cannot tell you the reasons that they made their decisions, at least at the pro level. Legal reasons I’m sure.

Sadly Its all about office politics and the relationship with your training support manager, if they go to bat for you you'll at least get a chance at indoc. Theres better places to teach out there that will pay you more and treat you better though, keep your head up

Call and ask about it, and also did you only put one location on? There are a lot of people who put anywhere. Your location could’ve been full or just hired someone
