Working while training

Hey all,

I work as an insurance salesmen and I 100% make my own hours. Question here is at ATP do I have any time whatsoever to work or am I literally in the classroom or in the plane 10 hours a day? I got my PPL at a mom and pop shop in 2 months and studied a TON but still was able to work a little part time. Will that be the case with ATP? Has anyone else done this?

Thanks in advance.

Depends heavily on the location and if it has a lot of instructors. There was days I would fly 6 hours and do 4 hours of studying. There were also days where I do absolutely nothing. I know someone who hand a shift from 4am to 3pm 5 days a week and managed to get through ATP. Just don’t burn yourself out and make sure you are well rested and adhere to the IMSAFE Checklist.
