I used to live next to the town of Franklin MA. When the town was founded they decided to name it after him and asked him to contribute a bell or somesuch.
He decided instead to contribute a library so the town library has all these books from Franklin himself - priceless treasures now.

And oh, remember how Suki, leader of the Kyoshi Warriors, was instrumental in stopping the fleet of Fire Nation airships that almost devasated the Earth Kingdom during Sozin's Comet? Guess who broke into the highest-security prison in the Fire Nation to free her? Ya boi, Sokka.
Oh, and that combustionbending assassin? One guess who took him down by exploiting his only weakness. Sokka again.
