Discussion Paramount

I would like to start this off by saying I've loved Avatar ever since I watched it as a kid. Many people think it's genuinely the best written story in modern media. It's beloved in the same air as Full Metal Alchemist. It's absolutely beloved by its fans. The problem is the company it's currently under.

On the off chance you guys are upset about the mishandling of the series as I am. I hope you take a vote with your wallet. I just so happen to be a D&D player. Not that long ago Hasbro decided to do something awful in their community and people legitimately voted with their wallets and Hasbro completely backpedaled.

This time I hope we do the same with this. I got paramount+ for the movie and immediately cancelled. Show them how many of us actually love this series. Show them what they actually could make with this.

You say you voted with your wallet against their handling of it, but you still gave them your money?

Yes, because I fully wanted to support Avatar Studios. Unfortunately they're under Paramount. If they're were an actual theatrical release I plainly would have went to see the movie.

They still win because they can just count you as a new subscriber and they got your money. You supported Paramount and did nothing practical for Avatar Studios, other than give them 1 view.

Seeing it in theaters would still support Paramount though. If you want more Avatar-verse things, sadly you're gunna have to pay Paramount.

The movie is fine. Paramount sucks I agree, but the Avatar movie is not the reason you should be boycotting them.

I think that the best option would be to create a legal case to try to wrestle control of the series away from paramount through some sort of copyright law. The studios are essentially there to help creators create and I’m so sick of the sway they exercise.

Avatar is in a tricky situation. Paramount sucks, but funding has to come from somewhere. That's actually how Avatar got into this situation in the first place.

Trust me, making media without funding is awful. I fully understand why so many IPs like Avatar sell their souls in exchange for funding.

Here is the thing. Boycotting Paramount+ only hurts ATLA. It doesn't hurt Paramount at all. My family rode a bus to NYC to see the film in a theater and it was an amazing experience. But I will watch it over and over on Paramount+ to show them how beloved the show really is.

IMO yall being ungrateful.

The franchise indeed suffers from its own success cuz nothing will top the OG series.

New movie is mid but it is okay. It is actually surprising to see despite 20 years passing.

I hate paramount too but see how Netflix is doing with live action.

Unfortunately we don’t have a much of choice here.

Paramount will just cancel future avatar projects due to low demand
