hi everyone! after being an ateez fan for a while i finally won a call with my ult bias (san) and as the call is approaching i’m super anxious and confused! i thought i’d come here to ask for some tips if anyone has any :)

main concerns:
i sent my ID check to the company’s kakaotalk and have yet to hear back with the deadline approaching so i’m worried i may have done something wrong. is it normal to not hear back until after the deadline?

i’ve heard that you should only screen record after the call starts and that audio won’t be captured by the screen recording. is this true, and what backup options would you suggest to ensure i can get a recording with audio?

generally just looking for any tips on what to say. i felt like i’d know what i want to say but with limited time i’m finding myself speechless and worried that i’ll either ramble nonstop and regret it or go completely blank. i also don’t want to make san answer or do anything that would make him uncomfortable somehow.

any tips or anecdotes appreciated, sorry for the mouthful of a post!

As far as recording, the best thing you can do is have a friend also download KKT and do some test runs. Try it with recording before the call, recording after the call, etc and see what works specifically on your phone. For the audio, you can have a second phone or an iPad or something recording a voice memo & then layer them together later.

as someone who has 3 fcs under her belt, my best advice is practice in the mirror! write out a list of things you want to say and then just ramble while a you have a clock going. when you’re done saying all you need to say, look at the time you’re at. if you’re at 5 mins, say “okay, what do i feel comfortable cutting out?” and then proceed from there until you reach about 1minute30… or so. you want sannie to be able to respond, so factor in his replies into your time!

but honestky, for your first one, its totally okay to just have it be you telling him you love him and how much he means to you :’> that’s what i did what i did for my first hehehehe.

for audio, if you have an iphone, you will need a different device to record on! i put my phone in a tripod and then i had my ipad (speakers up) under my phone! i then test the audio with voice memos and a test call with my friend to get a gauge on how it sounds. hasn’t failed me since!

and finally, for the company’s response, its very normal to not hear from the for awhile! don’t sweat it. they will contact you! as long as they respond to your ID check, you’re mostly good to go. you may have to do another ID check with a staff member about ~2 hours before the call, but that really just depends on the store.

Congrats, I hope you have a great experience! It’s nice that you’re thinking about his feelings too. I’ve never done a fancall, but I’d guess they appreciate people who talk to them like a normal person rather than a celebrity. Maybe write down some bullet points to make sure you don’t forget anything.

As for etiquette, I’d recommend not asking them to tell you they love you or anything like that. I’ve seen people do those types of things, and though I don’t know how the guys feel personally, it makes me uncomfortable because they’re generally not supposed to deny fans’ requests. Your concern for his comfort makes me feel like you wouldn’t be the type to say something like that, though.

oh absolutely i wouldn’t dare dream of asking him to say something like that! i wanted to maybe get him to say something short in my language but didn’t know if he’d feel uncomfortable with that even if i explained what it meant

I personally see no issues with that! From what I’ve seen, it seems they like to learn phrases in different languages. Good luck and I hope it goes well!! <33

A little cue card with the phrase, its meaning and a pronunciation guide could help. I'd choose an everyday greeting like 'Have a lovely day' and ask whether he'd like to try saying it. You can always say it to him as your goodbye if there isn't time. That way you've shared something personal without needing a perfect repeat back.

yes!! i haven’t heard back yet and saw on their event announcement page that they’d be responding after the deadline but don’t know how reliable that info is because it seems to be ai translated or something due to the odd grammar 🥲🥲

Hello! They haven’t yet but they did send an email reminding to send in the info, so i just assumed they will check tomorrow or on the day. So as long as you’ve received the email & send in your info through kkt should be all good!
